At dinner on Saturday night, which included the Fabulous Sarah P and the Marvelous 1crzcbn and other great friends, Plácido and Martin announced that they planned to go to San Francisco City Hall on Monday to demand a wedding license. Martina was a bit taken aback, but being a big fan of Harvey Milk and a strong believer of human rights for all people, she, the Cuban, and Ms. P agreed to witness this important event. Others at the table suggested that with all their world travel, why not just go to Mexico City to marry. Martin exclaimed “and you are satisfied with the US lagging behind so many other places in the world?” We understood and here we are today at City Hall.

The man and I picked up the mom and the girls to take them to school to meet their teachers. Julia and Danielle were both excited and their teachers seemed so attentive. They will do well there.
New t-shirts. Joined the PTA.
I've got to admit that my heart rejoices at the quiet and calmness in my house now that the girls are gone while simultaneously hurts from missing sweet Julia. She is happy and her family is reunited -- and that really was the best outcome for her.
Still, I sometimes just miss her. For almost a year, she was my girl.
