At that moment a hole gets blown into the ceiling and Ronnie and Jason fly through.

MP: "Firestorm!"

RR: "Holy crap! Stein was right. There is another one."

JR: "Two."

RR: "You know what I mean!"

JR: "There is Deathstorm. He has them!"

DS: "Firestorm. It looks like you have found someone compatible. Is it that black kid? Wasn't he the cause of my existence?" Deathstorm says with a smile.

JR: "Screw you! Take him down! Hit him with a right flank!"

DS: *Sigh* "I can still hear you, mister Rusch."

Jax: "Gotta keep paying attention though. Maddie, blast him!"

Maddie ignites her hands and she blasts Deathstorm in the chest who then gets punched by Firestorm.

DS: "Argh. This should be fun."

Deathstorm gets up and ignites his hands. He blasts at Firestorm, but Maddie blasts Deathstorm in the back. Firestorm then turns around and blasts Deathstorm in the chest. He creates a circle of fire around him and destroys the building. Firestorm flies up and turns the ground into liquid cement so Deathstorm would get stuck. Deathstorm just blasts the ground again and simply hovers up again but gets blown back again by Maddie and when he tries to get up he gets blasted again by Firestorm.

DS: "Damn it! ARGH, screw it!"

Deathstorm opens a portal again and he flies into it, making his escape. Firestorm and Maddie look at each other in disbelief.

Jax: "Say something."

RR: "No need to. We can hear you too."

Jax: "You can?"

JR: "Yes we can."

MP: "Holy shit, I hear him too."

Jax: "So that means we are all connected?"

JR: "You two are part of the Firestorm matrix now. My name is Jason Rusch by the way. This guy you are looking at is Ronnie Raymond."

RR: "Dude! What about our identities?!"

MP: "Hold up. Ronnie? Ronnie Raymond? Well look at that. I was wondering when you would call me back."

Jax:

MP: "Just kidding babe. Ronnie and I used to date."

RR: "And more."

MP: "Okay that's enough. Your identities are safe. The one in my head is Jefferson Jackson, my boyfriend."

RR: "The message is clear!"

JR: "We saw the footage of Mercury Labs. We knew what happened to the two of you. Do you two perhaps know what has happened to doctor Hewitt?"

MP: "He got powers as well. He tried to kill us. After he had researched the matrix he would've taken the matrix for himself, and probably would've turned evil anyway."

Jax: "Speaking of it, where is he?"

They look at the place where Tokamak was put down and he is gone.

RR: "Damnit. Okay, after him. You know how to fly yet?"

Maddie fires up and hovers.

MP: "Of course."

RR: "Alright, let's go get him."

In the summer of 1979, a group of friends in a small Ohio town witness a catastrophic train crash while making a super 8 movie and soon suspect that it was not an accident. Shortly after, unusual disappearances and inexplicable events begin to take place in town, and the local Deputy tries to uncover the truth - something more terrifying than any of them could have imagined.

I splurged on a new palette for my on-location sketch kit. I like the idea of having more mixing space (vs. my Altoids palette), and just having a good quality palette. Can I justify it as an early birthday present to myself? I found this empty Schmincke palette at Sarnoff's (a local art store here in Tucson) and was able to use a 40% off coupon for it! This made it a price within reason.

I decided to also try a new paint for me: Daniel Smith Transparent Pyrrol Orange (PO71) as my warm red (I usually use Organic Vermillion). I plan to do some mixing tests to run this new paint through its paces.

I may tweak the contents of the palette. I usually use Phthalo Green BS but happened to have a half-pan with Phthalo Green YS already in it, so I will go with that for now. Same with Quinacridone Burnt Scarlet. I like that this palette has a warm and cool of each primary, neutralized versions of yellow, orange, and red, a warm and cool green, three blues, and a violet. I put Payne's Gray in there because I already had it in a half-pan, it can make a nice neutral green for foliage, and it can serve nicely for monochrome studies.

My travel brush is wonderful, the Silver Black Velvet #8 Voyager travel brush. It's cool that there's a place for it between the rows of half pans!

Week 8.....Circle

I spent the day with my son at college. Today was his lacrosse team's season opener. I took a few minutes during half time to shoot this 360 degree pano standing in the center of the quad. I converted the linear pano to polar coordinates in CS5....viola! ( it was a wee bit more difficult than that....) Planet Aurora University.

Oh, and the Spartans beat the visiting Oberlein College 12-3!

At the time I wasn't too pleased with how quickly a lot of IC black displaced WC maroon and gold, but now I'm sure glad I kept dutifully recording the local power. Four years later 6067 would leave the roster and be scrapped and now, 8 years on, she is but a memory living on only through slides.New Richmond, WI, July 10, 2006.
