Mr. and Mrs. Kouno for whom my parents acted as matchmaker at Kago-no-ya Kanazawa Bunko
**********************************************************************************
Other highlights of this leg of the trip is meeting with two gentlemen who made it to 90 years. My parents, or mostly my mother, acted as a matchmaker for my father’s business friend. It was a match made in heaven. Recently I became their close friend. It was always a big joy to meet them when I visited Japan. We went to eat sushi at my favorite sushi place, Inase, each time even after my mother could not join us anymore.

The cab of Woodhead Route class 76 locomotive 76039. The locomotive was scrapped years ago but one cab is preserved at the Manchester Museum of Science & Industry. 1st June 2009.
I have another meet tomorrow and then another on Saturday. I'm not too nervous for tomorrow because it will be all freshman and sophomores, but Saturdays is a varsity meet so I'm reallyyy nervous! Luckily I'm pretty sure I'll only be in relays!

babylon is sucking my soul out.
sam is sick.
so we can't go anywhere.
ugh. ugh. ugh.
[i always put off doing the refrigerator shot, because i never had a refrigerator to myself, so i never felt like the refrigerator i had really represented my eating habits.
but the other idea i had for my picture of the day failed miserably.
so i said fuck it and used billy and bethanie's fridge.]
Sorry about the disappearing act this week. Between migraines and insomnia, I had neither any creative impetus nor constructive input on others' creativity. Another couple of days was taken up with freaking out over how to get caught up. Then I remembered that this is my photo stream, not my stress stream, and I don't HAVE to catch up. I'll just look at it as some Flickr PTO and pick up where I left off with number 76. I will be catching up with my friends' streams over the next couple of days :-)

76 021 & 76 013 on the ACDC Railtour at Penistone Station on Sept 16th 1978
This Pic is part of a collection from the 1960's to 1980's taken at various locations along the Woodhead Route. They are all prints with written details on the rear but unfortunately no photographers details.
The photographs were purchased as a set some time ago and after spending some time cleaning the images up I now feel it is time to show them and not let the collection just hide away.
