Southern Pacific's Lodi Local reenters the Stockton Subdivision from the Ione Branch at Galt, California, sometime in the mid-1990's. I shot this not too long before the Union Pacific-SP merger. The freshly-painted SPMW ballast cars look like they were converted from old two-bay PS-2 covered hoppers.
SP 7613 and 7665 are both EMD GP40-2's.
