EYMS Volvo B7TL/Plaxton President PL51LDZ (656) seen as it charges away from Bishop Wilton on the afternoon 10W from Woldgate College to Skirpenbeck.
September 2013 saw EYMS regain school services 4W/5W/6W/7W/8W/9W/10W from Transdev York. Most of the routes had two years previously passed the other way between the operators, resulting in a decline in the number of Olympians operating out of Pocklington depot. The regaining of this work led to the transfer of an additional four to compliment what was the sole survivor at the depot, 632, though subsequent vehicle movements mean that only three now remain. While the depot is the only one of East Yorkshire’s eight not to be allocated a B9TL, it is home to ten B7TLs and it is unsurprising that these are found on all routes operating from Pocklington. Alongside 655, 656 arrived at the depot in spring 2012 as the ex London Presidents were being distributed across the company's operating range, replacing one out of Olympians 629/30/31 in the process.

Finally, after four and a half months (since January 1st, 2020), this locomotive is complete! Of my current LEGO train collection, this model stands alone as the most challenging and rewarding. Almost every aspect of the design process presented a new obstacle; from managing a dual PF L-motor setup in the boiler, to routing wires in the firebox and tender, to designing a functioning set of 3D-printed driving rods. At times, in frustration, I considered shelving this project. Seeing the results makes me glad I saw this one through!
I'd like to extend special thanks to:
Brick Print Studios for the white pinstripes on the running boards and dark red cab face.
Shane Sundell for the dark bluish gray smokestack.
OKBrickWorks for the livening decals as always.
Glenn Holland for 3D-printing and testing my driving rods design, and for the awesome Chicago & Alton Railroad patch!
I hope you all enjoy!

Just a quick look at the accuracy in scaling of some key features on my “Chicago & Alton 4-6-2 Light Pacific Locomotive #656” LEGO model. Within one (1) plate (3.2mm) (at 1:44 scale) almost everywhere! Overall, this is about as accurate as possible with LEGO.
FYI, I chose to model at this scale because with these XXL drivers, the driver wheelbase scaled out to within 1mm at 1:44 scale!
