Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracles took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the brigth sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS< but still awesome and enough I felt!

Portrait miniature sur ivoire de forme ronde (diamètre 6,3 cm), présenté sous verre avec baguette en laiton doré et cadre en bois ciré noir (H 12,6 cm, largeur 13,1 cm). Elle représente le général de division Nansouty en grand uniforme, signée en bas à droite « J. Victorien ».

BIBLIOGRAPHIE
Étienne Marie Antoine Champion, né le 30 mai 1768 à Bordeaux (en Gironde actuelle), mort le 12 février 1815 à Paris), 1er comte de Nansouty, est un général français de la Révolution et de l’Empire.
Il fut admis à l'École militaire de Paris le 21 octobre 1782.
Cadet-gentilhomme avec rang de sous-lieutenant le 30 mai 1783, il passa sous-lieutenant au régiment de Bourgogne le 26 mars 1785, capitaine de remplacement au régiment de Franche-Comté-Cavalerie le 6 avril 1788, et, le 24 mai, au régiment de hussards de Lauzun, devenu 6e régiment.
Nommé lieutenant-colonel du 9e régiment de cavalerie le 4 avril 1792, il fit les campagnes de 1792, 1793, et de l'an II à l'an VII aux armées sur le Rhin.
Nansouty se fit bientôt remarquer de ses chefs par sa bravoure, ses heureuses dispositions et ses talents. Il sut se rendre utile dans chacun des grades qu'il obtenait, et conserva dans son régiment la discipline qu'il était si difficile de maintenir alors.
Nommé chef de brigade le 19 frimaire an II, il justifia l'opinion que le général en chef Jean Victor Marie Moreau avait conçue de sa prudence et de sa valeur ; mais, aussi modeste que brave, il refusa plusieurs fois le grade de général de brigade, qu'il n'accepta que le 12 fructidor an VII (29 août 1799).
Employé à l'armée de réserve le 15 ventôse an VIII (6 mars 1800), il rentra bientôt dans l'armée du Rhin.
Appelé sur un plus vaste théâtre, le général Nansouty rendit des services plus efficaces et contribua puissamment aux succès de l'armée du Rhin. Il seconda le général en chef Ney dans les différentes attaques qu'il fit faire, depuis Seltz jusqu'à Mayence.
Nansouty surprit, à Sundhoffen, une compagnie de uhlans, qu'il ramena prisonnière de guerre sans avoir perdu un seul homme.
Le 3 mai 1800, à la bataille de Stockack, il commandait une brigade de grosse cavalerie, et ses habiles manœuvres préparèrent le succès de cette affaire. Lecourbe, dont il commandait la réserve, déclara qu'il devait une partie du succès de cette bataille aux sages mesures et à l'intrépidité de Nansouty. Le 5, à la bataille de Moesskirch, il rompit souvent l'ennemi par des charges brillantes et réitérées à la tête de sa cavalerie. Lorsque le général Lecourbe reçut l'ordre de marcher pour s'emparer d'un des ponts sur le Danube, depuis Dillingen jusqu'à Donauworth, Nansouty assura les arrières de l'armée française contre le prince de Reuss, dont le corps était stationné dans le Tyrol, et le battit chaque fois qu'il voulut déboucher. Dans la journée du 24 prairial, le général ayant été attaqué par le prince de Reuss, il le repoussa vigoureusement jusqu'à Füssen.
Ce général prit la part la plus glorieuse à toutes les affaires qui terminèrent la dernière campagne de cette guerre, et acquit la réputation d'un de nos bons généraux de cavalerie. À la tête de son régiment, il chargeait avec la valeur d'un soldat ; commandant d'une brigade, il la dirigeait avec la prudence, la précision et le coup d'œil qui, dans les moments critiques, décident la victoire.
Le 12 prairial an IX, employé près le corps d'observation de la Gironde, et mis à la disposition du gouvernement le 12 nivôse an X, Nansouty fut attaché à la 22e division militaire le 28 ventôse suivant.
Promu général de division le 3 germinal an XI (24 mars 1803), il commanda, le 5, le département de Seine-et-Oise, et, le 8 floréal, il fit partie du camp de Nimègue.
Membre de la Légion d'honneur le 19 frimaire an XII, il passa à l'armée des côtes de l'Océan, et reçut la croix de commandeur de l'Ordre le 25 prairial suivant.
Le général Nansouty prit ensuite le commandement de la 1re division de grosse cavalerie de la Grande Armée, et fit les campagnes des ans XIV, 1806 et 1807, en Autriche, en Prusse et en Pologne.
À la tête d'un corps de cuirassiers, il décida le succès du combat de Wertingen, se distingua à Ulm, et contribua puissamment à la victoire de la bataille d'Austerlitz. Nansouty fit des prodiges de valeur à Eylau et à Friedland. Le maréchal Lannes lui ayant commandé d'aller au-devant de l'armée française, il passa avec sa division de cavalerie sous un feu terrible, et contint jusqu'à six heures du soir les efforts d'une masse d'ennemis. Les Russes, trompés par ses habiles manœuvres, n'osèrent avancer, et Napoléon Ier eut le temps d'arriver avec son armée.
Grand officier de la Légion d'honneur le 4 nivôse an XIV, Nansouty fut, en récompense de sa belle conduite dans cette campagne, fait Grand aigle de la Légion d'honneur le 11 juillet 1807, et le titre de premier écuyer de l'Empereur l'année suivante. En cette qualité, il accompagna Napoléon en Espagne.
Il fit la campagne de Portugal avec Jean-Andoche Junot. Il prit part à la conquête du Hanovre sous Mortier.
Il accompagna Napoléon à Erfurt, reçut des souverains l'accueil le plus honorable, et fut créé comte de l'Empire le 27 juillet 1808.
En 1809, le général Nansouty prit le commandement de la division de réserve de grosse cavalerie à la grande armée en Allemagne, et mit le comble à sa réputation en exécutant, à Essling et à Wagram, ces belles charges qui achevèrent de fixer la victoire sous les drapeaux français. L'Empereur lui accorda une dotation de 10 000 francs sur le domaine de Zeven, situé en Hanovre. Nansouty reprit, près de Napoléon, ses fonctions de premier écuyer, employa une partie de 1811 à faire des inspections générales de cavalerie, et passa, le 25 décembre, au corps d'observation de l'Elbe.
En avril 1812, il commanda en Russie le 1er corps de réserve de cavalerie de la grande armée, se trouva à la bataille de la Moskowa, où il rendit les plus grands services et reçut une balle au genou.
Nommé colonel général des dragons le 16 janvier 1813, il redoubla de courage à mesure que les dangers devenaient plus éminents ; Nansouty prit glorieusement parts aux affaires de Dresde, de Wachau, de Leipzig et de Hanau, où il versa de nouveau son sang pour la patrie. Le 29 juillet, il prit le commandement de la Garde impériale et mérita d'être cité honorablement dans les bulletins de la grande armée en Saxe.
Dans la Campagne de France, il fit des prodiges de valeur à Champ-Aubert, à Montmirail le 11 février 1814, où il y fut blessé, au combat de Berry-au-Bac le 5 mars 1814, et à Craonne où il reçut une nouvelle blessure.
Il se rallia aux Bourbons en 1814. Le 20 avril suivant, membre de la commission des officiers généraux pour la Garde, il passa dans la 18e division militaire le 22 comme commissaire extraordinaire du Roi. Créé chevalier de Saint-Louis le 1er juin, inspecteur général des dragons le 14 juillet, il devint ensuite capitaine-lieutenant de la 1re compagnie des mousquetaires.
Le général Nansouty mourut à Paris, des suites de ses blessures et des fatigues de la guerre, le 12 février 1815. Il est enterré au cimetière du Père-Lachaise (division 27).
Son nom est inscrit sur l'arc de triomphe de l'Étoile, côté Est.
Champion Etienne Marie Antoine, nato il 30 maggio 1768 a Bordeaux (nell'attuale Gironda), morto il 12 febbraio 1815 a Parigi), primo conte di Nansouty, è un generale francese della Rivoluzione e dell'Impero.
Fu ammesso all'Ecole Militaire de Paris il 21 ottobre 1782.
gentleman Cadet con il grado di tenente 30 maggio 1783, ha superato il tenente in Borgogna Reggimento 26 marzo 1785, in sostituzione di capitano del reggimento di Franche-Comte-Cavalleria 6 aprile 1788, e 24 maggio, al reggimento ussaro di Lauzun, ora sesto reggimento.
Nominato tenente colonnello del 9 ° Reggimento di Cavalleria 4 aprile 1792, ha fatto le campagne del 1792, 1793 e Anno II nel VII eserciti sul Reno.

Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracels took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the bright sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS, but still awesome and enough I felt!
What a beautiful way to test the Nikon D810 and Tamron 150-600mm zoom lens for sports photography!

Swatch Women's Pro in Trestles San Clemente with pro surfers /models Alana Blanhard, Lakey Peterson, Laura Enever, Sally Fitzgibbons, Coco Ho, Stephanie Gilmore, newcomer Nikki Van Dijk, and more!
The new Nikon D810 rocks for sports photography! New Instagram!

Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Van's US Open Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracels took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 14mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the bright sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS, but still awesome and enough I felt!

I get asked a lot of questions (I love questions--ask away!), and one of the more common ones is "What kind of camera shoul I buy?" Begin with anything, and then, when it falls short of the beauty you are trying to capture, invest in a new one! The important thing is to think of it as buying not something for yourself, but a gift for the world, who will witness all the magnificent photos you shoot with it! Then, the next most important thing to do is to shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot! For each and every epic shot on an awesome camera helps justify its cost! I shoot with the awesome Nikon D810, Sony A7R, and now the Sony A7RII! And in the long run, the cost of the camera is a very small entity, when conpared to the cost of life and time. So buy a great camera, and then give the gift of epic photography to the world! View your artistic mission into photography as an epic odyssey of heroic poetry! Surf's up! Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women Surfers Surfing! Surf Girl Goddesses! Sports Photography With New Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens for Nikon!
Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Trestles Sports Photography With New Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD Lens for Nikon D810!

The new Nikon D810 rocks for sports photography! New Instagram!
Nikon D810 Photos Pro Women's Surfing Sports Photography Tamron SP 150-600mm F/5-6.3 Di VC USD !
I shot in DX mode which crops away the extra pixels and takes me 1.5X closer while allowing for up to 7 FPS with the Nikon D810's Nikon MB-D12 Battery Grip using the 8 AA battery option! 8 Duracells took me through around 3,000 shots no problem--maybe more! I was shooting at the equivalent of 900mm with the 1.5x crop factor! Pretty close! Had I gone with the Nikon D4s, I would have gotten 12 fps, but no DX crop factor, as the sensor has only around 24mp, compared to the d810's 36 megapixels! Sure the larger pixel size on the Nikon D4s full frame sensor comes in handy indoors or at night, but in the bright sun, there's more than enough light for the smaller pixels in crop mode! Sure we lose some pixels from the outer edges when shooting in DX crop mode, but most of those pixels would be cropped away in Lightroom anyway. And the smaller files make the memory cards last longer, while also upping the FPS to 7 shots per second! Not quite 12 FPS, but still awesome and enough I felt!
