Can't believe I fit into a child's dress, I'm 5'9". I thank the size 14 child that must have been in some sort of folk band in the 70's for this dress.

I have been toying with myself about posting this picture all week. I don't usually take many shots of people for various reasons.. here is one.
Flinders Street station, with the other flickrpeeps, waiting for some to catch up.
This guy caught my eye, I didn't think I caught his. I quickly snapped...no probs.
A few minutes later, he came over, and said that I had to give him $5 for the picture I just took of him. I told him I didn't have $5, and things started to get slightly ugly.
He then told me to give him the film, when I told him it was digital he got more pissed, and I deleted the photo - well one of them in front of him..
He went on and on, telling me to give him $5 - to get money off my friends and give it to him.
I just started to move away and he started abusing me, with all kinds of insults - telling me he would smash my camera in my face...Until we met with the others and pretty much crossed the road.
Did I do the wrong thing?
Should I have uploaded at all?
Should I have left the original photo?
Trying out Sony NEX-5 over the weekend and I think I'm falling in love with the little thing. It's fun with legacy lenses and the little 16mm is pretty decent too.

With Taunus in the background. Just another French supermarket/retail centre car park (and one of my top 5 was also seen here, to be uploaded in due course).
I was up before the sun so I walked down to one of the "out of service" electric sites to put batteries on charge (different times are these, we don't need to get our film developed any more but we DO need to charge batteries!), then found a way down to the lake. I was a little late, there were a couple of "serious photographers" already there setting up their serious DSLR's on their serious carbon fiber (a guess, I admit) tripods and looking down their noses at me (guessing again, I get that a lot so I don't look anymore) snapping away with my tiny ELPH.
To be fair, I bet their pictures did come out better...

June 10th, 2013 - 44 Quiet Nights, Day 12 - Grand Teton National Park.
While Auschwitz Concentration Camp is filled with sights and scenes that will send chills down the spine, I found this particular display to be the most haunting. The Block 5 building exhibits "Material Evidence of Crime" and displays the shoes, suitcases, pots and pans, eyeglasses and even hair of the camp inmates, but to me, the prosthetic devices left behind delivered a hard hitting - and somewhat morbid - human element that really drove home how horrendous this place must have been. Out of respect to the victims, I had a hard time deciding whether or not to post this photo, but as many people will never see the exhibit, I felt as though the risk of forgetting the atrocities of recent history far outweighed the inappropriateness of the post.

1) i was once told that i look like a character in an ingmar bergman film. to this day, that comment still makes me smile.
2) despite it being a mind-numbing 32° outside, i love this time of the year more than any other.
3) i had a dream about john lennon last night that involved a lot of hugging & crying & thanking him for everything. i woke up quite shook from it.
4) i have read three augusten burroughs' novels in the past 2 weeks.
5) i turn 22 in 3 days.
Waah my Ldoll 5 haul! Feast your eyes! xD

Exposure # 5 - Libeek Horse. The Netherlands. It's amazing what a thin focal range you get at ƒ8.8 with large format.
Some more 4x5 tests using my old Polaroid Model 150 Roll Film Camera. Kodak Royal-X Pan 4166 (expired 6/1986) shot at about ISO 100.
I'm still having some troubles with the old Fink-Roselieve FR cut-film-pack developing tank. At first I thought I wasn't using enough liquid, but now, with plenty of liquid I'm still getting some odd dark areas of the negative near the top of the tank and I'm wondering if it's possible light leek? Hard to figure out. (I'll post some pix of the negs themselves soon.)

C31 BPR was transferred from Hampshire Bus for the summer of 1988 until UC could acquire further Iveco / Robin Hoods (some of which were diverted from a Hampshire order).
C31 BPR was numbered 5 by United Counties and painted white for the rest of its four month stay, operating mainly in Wellingborough before being sold to the dealer Carlton.
Subsequently one of its operators was Bayline (aka Devon General) with whom Stagecoach had an interesting relationship.

I was actually taking a shot of one of the many tourists of Bath choosing a postcard outside a souvenir shop when I turned to the left and realised the tourist inside was far more interesting and snapped through the window
Out of focus you can see those quintessential British souvenirs - figurines of Her Madge and Fireman Sam
Another view inside the power plant. The colors are enhanced a bit and/or altered by post-processing, but not terribly so -- the paint was surprisingly vibrant here.
A plate on one furnace was dated in the 1940s. I couldn’t really tell if that was the installation date or when some sort of overhaul was performed. But the paint definitely seems not original to construction.

Aurora Elgin & Fox River Electric Company 5 maintaining the road bed at South Elgin, Illinois on July 17, 1965, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 5 was built as as 45 ton model by GE in June 1946 ( c/n 28467 ) and was used to switch coal between the IC connection in Coleman and the state hospital in South Elgin, the only remaining customer on the railroad after passenger service was discontinued in 1935. After the coal service was discontinued in 1973, this locomotive was sold to Chicago Gravel Company as 511, but returned to home rails on the Fox River Trolley Museum in 2001.
