Vanessa and I were at the corner of 14th and 4th, and we heard this humming and popping, and all of a sudden, sparks and flames shot about 5-6' in the air. 7 or 8 FDNY trucks showed up and didn't want to hear from anyone who saw the explosion - parked their truck right over the hole where the flames shot from (genius) and roped off a nearby sidewalk grate... then most of the trucks left. here you can see the hole in the street from which the flames shot... it's smoking a little bit.

I took this from work (with permission!) A Fat Face branded yo-yo, which lights up when you spin it. Except we used it too much and now it doesn't light up. But it's still the coolest!

This beautiful '57 Chevy rode into the parking lot of the Tillamook McDonalds while I was eating lunch in our van.
My wife's family was homeless off and on when she was a kid. They lived in a car just like this for a time. Chrissy and her two sisters lived in the back seat. I can barely imagine what that must have been like.
