CN 4028 and 9468 pause on the south end of the Dubuque yard for the conductor to get the switch before making a move on another cut of cars. It was neat to spend a few minutes listening to the 567 prime mover strut its stuff. According to the info I've found the engine was built in December of 1956.
I always figured those homes on top the bluff have to have a rather nice afternoon view of the rail yard. Oh yeah, and the Mississippi River, most of downtown Dubuque, East Dubuque, and three states too!

Used to be my Dad's. He sold it in the late 90's. It shows up around town every once in a while for car shows. I was lucky enough to be able to take it to prom and homecoming. No power steering or power brakes is quite an experience!
Whilst on hire to FGW from Network Rail - later DRS, 57305 is seen from the sidings in Long Rock rather than the public sea side. No truth in the rumour it was going to be named Sand Castle....... .

Hello!
I think I never used so many patterned papers in a single card as I did in this one. Can you believe that I used four different 6”x6” pads and some more patterned papers? Oh yeah, that’s true! And just one stamp for the sentiment. I don’t usually use many pattern papers, but I’ve always had a crush for them, since we got acquainted over the internet :)… maybe because they were almost impossible to find in my country not that long ago. The only ones we could find 4 or 5 years ago were big sheets of cardstock (EU size A1) sold “door to door” to schools, no patterned papers in craft stores… now we can find some old collections from USA brands and others made in EU, but still limited. Besides, I developed another crush more recently - Project Life cards! I don’t use them for their purpose, but I crazy love the variety and beauty of those little cards… to make my life miserable there are some brands that make them impossible to resist :). I used one in my card. Do you see the striped panel with a red heart and the word everyday? That’s it!
The conversation is long and one of these days I’ll be “fired” from Flickr for placing more words than pictures… so I’ll be brief describing the making of the card.
1- White card base with distressed edges in yellow.
2- Lots of patterned papers including one of those A1 sheets of cardstock, now also sold in stores - the white and blue Vichy squares.
3- The little birds are paper pieced from a 6”x6” DP and from plain cardstock. Both birds and red heart are coated with clear WS.
4- The word “love” is die cut from alpha dies and covered with GA.
I’m adding this card to RIC#57 - runwayinspired.blogspot.pt/2014/04/ric57-markus-lupfer.html - and to CFC130 - cas-ualfridays.blogspot.pt/2014/03/cfc130.html.

Stamps: SSS - Watt’s Up?
