Displayed here is the Maastoren, when it’s completed it will be 165 m high (44 stories, the highest tower in the Netherlands). Architects: Dam & Partners. A part of the Koningshaven was drained to accommodate its construction.
There was fierce opposition to the project in the quarter, mainly because of the shadow it would cast on the neighboring Noordereiland and because of the integrated 600 car garage at the bottom level of the tower and the extra traffic/congestion which would be the result. People found this parking facility perverse since the tower is adjacent to a major subway and tram hub: Wilhelminaplein station . Eventually it became a court case and the judge ruled in favor of project developer OVG, the owner of the tower.

This project took 475 hours over 21 months. The ship has a full interior from the bridge to the cargo bay, and features lights in the cargo bay and firefly drive.
There are about 70,000 pieces, and it weighs around 135 pounds.

Die Dampflokomotiven der Gattung Preußische G 10 waren Güterzug-Schlepptenderlokomotiven, die auf Basis des Fahrgestells der Preußischen Tenderlokomotive T 16 und des Kessels der Preußischen Personenzuglokomotive P 8 entwickelt wurden.
Bei der Entwicklung der G 10 wurde das Fahrwerk der T 16 mit der seitenverschiebbaren ersten und fünften Achse deutlich modifiziert, die T 16 wurde danach mit diesem modifizierten Fahrwerk als T 16.1 weitergebaut.
Neben dem Kessel wurde auch das Führerhaus weitgehend von der P 8 übernommen.
Die G 10 war für den schweren Güterzugdienst auf Hauptstrecken vorgesehen, durch ihre niedrigere Achslast konnte sie aber flexibler als die in etwa leistungsgleiche Preußische G 8.1 eingesetzt werden. Die G 10 wurde vereinzelt auch im Personenzugdienst verwendet.
Zwischen 1910 und 1924 wurden insgesamt 2.615 für die Preußischen Staatseisenbahnen und die Deutsche Reichsbahn geliefert, 35 gingen an die Reichseisenbahnen in Elsaß-Lothringen (als Elsaß-Lothringische G 10) und 27 an die Eisenbahnen des Saargebietes. Weitere 350 gingen an Bahnunternehmen in die Türkei, Rumänien, Polen und Litauen.
Die Deutsche Reichsbahn übernahm einen Großteil der Maschinen aus Preußen und baute die G 10 bis 1924 weiter. Nach dem Ersten Weltkrieg gingen 222 G 10 an ausländische Bahnen.
Nach Gründung der Deutschen Reichsbahn verbreitete sich die G 10 wie kaum eine andere Baureihe in ganz Deutschland, man fand sie in Betriebswerken im ganzen deutschen Reich, quasi „vom Nordseestrand bis zum Alpenrand“.
Nach dem Zweiten Weltkrieg verblieben insgesamt 165 Stück der Baureihe 57.10-35 auf österreichischem Staatsgebiet. Von diesen bildeten immerhin noch 96 Stück unter Erhaltung der Ordnungsnummer die ÖBB Reihe 657.
Die Deutsche Bundesbahn hatte 1950 etwa 649, die Deutsche Reichsbahn in der DDR 112 und die Saarbahnen 81 G 10 in ihrem Bestand. Die Bundesbahn musterte ihre ab 1968 als Baureihe 057 bezeichneten G 10 bis 1970 aus, als letzte die 057 070 am 22. September 1970. Bei der Reichsbahn war die Ausmusterung dieser Baureihe 1972 abgeschlossen.
Die ÖBB musterten die Reihe 657 bis 1968 komplett aus. Die 657.2770, eine von der Österreichischen Gesellschaft für Eisenbahngeschichte in Rumänien erworbene Maschine, ist betriebsfähig erhalten und wird zu Sonderfahrten eingesetzt.

Das Panorama im XPAN Format 24 x 65 hat einen Bildwinkel von ca. 72° (XPAN 45 mm). Die Aufnahme besteht aus 2 ohne Stativ mit der Fuji X100F aufgenommenen Bildern im Querformat , die mit Autopano Giga 4 zusammengerechnet wurden.

57 year old British Rail Class 57 Co-Co diesel locomotive 57305 heads the Rail Operations Group 09:19 (12:14 74L) Clacton CSD- Gascoigne Wood Sidings (Selby, North Yorkshire) one off ECS movement at Stratford Station on the Great Eastern Main Line in East London (UK).
In tow are 33 year old redundant former Greater Anglia Class 321 4 car EMU's 321431 and 445 heading off for storage and most likely scrapping.
Note the 'dellner coupling' contraption covered up in the yellow pane recess on the cab of the locomotive. This coupling was used during 57305's duties as a Direct Rail Services Thunderbird recovery locomotive in order to couple to and/or rescue other dellner equipped broken down trains.
57305 first entered service as Brush type 4 D1758 on May 23rd 1964.
57305 was numbered 47164 in the 1970s, based at Stratford and was a regular on the GEML.
In 1977 it was one of two Stratford Class 47 loco's that received a Union Flag on the side to commemorate the Queen's silver jubilee. I can vividly remember seeing 47164 along with 47163 at Chelmsford station on London- Norwich Inter City services around this time just as I became interested in railways.

Quick shop trip to buy stuff to make chicken congee and help combat this cold that came about last night. Of course they are out of ginger, one of the main bits of the soup.
Since yesterday I had to take all the models I had made this semester to the university. This one was one of my favourites because it shows the continuous transition from a triangle to a square in such a simple way.
General Motors powered Network Rail 'bodysnatcher' Class 57 locomotive, 57306 leads 57310 at speed northbound at a painfully dull Generals Lane Boreham on the GEML with the autumn weekday 08:34 3S60 Stowmarket DGL- Stowmarket DGL via Shenfield, Clacton on Sea, Bury St. Edmunds, Ely, Thetford, Soham and Norwich etc sandite spraying RHTT.
RHTT trains spray water and sandite jets at up to 20,000 psi for the cleaning and removal of autumnal fallen leaves from the rail head.
57306 first entered service as Brush Type 4 D1919 on November 22nd 1966.
