139 558 van railadventure komt met een SBB dosto en 4 SBB onderhoudstreinen voor de Gotthard tunnel door Oberwinter richting Koblenz. 27-04-18
GN 558 and "Soo" 559 bask in the winter sun (yes, winter in April) in the yard at the Jackson Street Roundhouse.
After being brought into the maintenance shop last summer, 559, mostly complete was pulled out with brand new brake rigging and new power assemblies. A few minor things remain including sand line repairs, but is otherwise fit for duty for the first time in four years.
The SD7 meanwhile has just arrived the property (two days prior to picture) after being gifted by Cargill last November.
Both are wonderful members of the fleet. The 558's staus remains unknown until the shop gets a peek at her, which will be this summer.

On Thursday evening, April 5, a BNSF local arrived the Jackson Street Roundhouse with a very special delivery. GN SD7 558.
Thanks to the generosity of BNSF and Cargill, the 558 was acquired and moved at no cost to MTM.
The SD7 borrowed the marks of a similar looking locomotive, SD9 6234 for ease of transport.
This summer the shop will "look under the hood" to see how she looks, but minus the green paint, she's hardly changed since she rolled out of La Grange in 1952.
