This is the last shot of the day on a chase that netted 7 photos of my favorite type of train, C 30-7s on coal loads. I chased this train to Winona. I then stopped in the bar across from the Winona depot where I ran into a couple of retired Milwakee Road engineers and spent about 2 hours listening to some great stories about the Hiawatha etc.

The Screamers are sitting on eggs two weeks ago we got to see them change over and there were 3 eggs this time it did not move
The southern screamer is found from the eastern half of Bolivia south into Argentina as far as Buenos Aires Province and east through Paraguay into southwestern Brazil and Uruguay. It has also been documented as a vagrant in southeastern Peru. It inhabits tropical and subtropical wetlands including lakes, marshes, and flooded meadows with scattered trees.
Two of the six Tree Swallow nestlings peeking through the hole in the box getting their first views of the big world. There is always one strong one who hogs the opening so he gets the most food when the parents come. It is interesting to see some of the smaller ones pushing their way through and they all seem to get enough food. Taken in my back yard in Calgary, Alberta.
There was some drama a couple of days ago when a hawk landed right beside the box. I think it was a Coopers Hawk and normally I would be ecstatic to see such a bird in my yard. It probably heard the peeping from inside the box, which is very loud now. By the time I got outside to chase him, he was being escorted away by many swallows. I don't know where they all came from but one of the parents must have sent out a distress peep calling for back-up. They really band together to fight off any predators.
