Shaken but not stirred… At precisely 10:19 a.m. on 10/19, the 2023 Great Washington Shakeout drill shook an active shaken but not stirred response from Naval Hospital Bremerton staff to drop, cover and hold. The immediate recommendation for staff after drop, cover, hold, would be “not to run outside,” stressed Terry Lerma, NHB emergency preparedness manger. “Wait until the shaking stops and/or the announcement for “all clear.”” Such a response during any sizable seismic trembler has shuddering significance at NHB. The Nisqually, Washington quake Feb. 28, 2001, at 10:54 a.m., registered 6.8 on the Richter Scale and was felt throughout the greater Puget Sound region. That earthquake jolted staff members with a quavering experience from the epicenter approximately 50 miles south of Bremerton. Staff members here in 2001 vividly remember the entire building seemingly shaking forever [estimates vary between 19 and 45 seconds]. Books, plants, coffee cups and other office gear were tossed like so much tickertape. Elevators suddenly halted between floors. Day 54 - a few years ago I got a handbuilt guitar amp from the Matamp factory in Huddersfield. This is it, custom finish (british racing green, with pale green silk speaker cloth, while faceplate and green engraving) and custom voicing. It sounds like a dream and I've yet to find an amp that sounds half as good.

Descripción: Reloj de sol vertical declinante a levante de piedra caliza con gnomon de acero, se encuentra en la parte superior del chaflán del edificio. Es de forma rectángular vertical achaflanado en los vértices superiores de aprox. 1,5 m de alto y 1,15 m de ancho, el dial está grabado en altorelieve, en su parte superior una cimera rematada con plumas, del venero parten las líneas horarias que marcan, con numeración romana, de VI de la mañana a III de la tarde. Está por ver si el trazado es correcto.
El gnomon se ha colocado unos centímetros por encima del vértice de las horas y está involuntariamente doblado a la altura de su apoyo con una pletina en forma de "S".

Harlaxton Manor, Lincolnshire, 1832-44.

Forecourt Gateway, c1840-54.
A major architectural element of Harlaxton Manor, notable for
the innovatory use of Jacobean Revival style in combination
with Baroque.
The owner, Gregory Gregory, acted largely as his own architect, in collaboration with Anthony Salvin 1832-38 and with William Burn and David Bryce 1838-54. Edward Blore was also consulted. The remarkable interior decoration, c1837-54, incorporates many resited French and German architectural items, and important plasterwork probably by Francis Bernasconi (1762-1841).
Anthony Salvin (1799-1881) was responsible for the majority of the exterior work, Edward Blore (1787-1879) was consulted and William Burn (1789-1870) undertook the conservatory and the kitchen range. There is debate among architectural historians as to who was responsible for the design of the interiors.
Harlaxton Manor is now the British campus of the University of Evansville, Indiana, USA.
Playing with HeliconFocus demo. All shots with Nikkor 35mm f/2 Pre-Ai @f/2 or f/2,8, hand helt with electronic shutter and Ch. Adjusting focus as the camera fires a burst of 8-12 photos. I prefer the (A) weighed average processing for these shots. I will bring a tripod next time..
