I used my girlfriend's "boot" to help me get the focus for day 54 of my 365 project, and I like how this one came out
I shot this photo and its three companions from 9:37 to 9:54 a.m. Aug. 24, 2011, in a one-block area of South Spring Street, Los Angeles.
For those who care about such things (which I obviously do, this time at least), these are uncropped, with just a bit of color correction and sharpening. I seldom do a lot of processing, but this is unusually spartan, even for me.

A CH-53 Navy Sea Stallion helicopter belonging to Marine Heavy Helicopter Squadron 464, out of New River, N.C., carries a sling-loaded Army Humvee during an air assault exercise at Fort Bragg, N.C. Aug. 27. The joint exercise tested the 2nd Battalion, 319th Airborne Field Artillery Regiment's ability to rapidly re-position weapons, vehicles, and personnel on the battlefield using helicopters in order to provide fire support to friendly units in combat.
