Sick cat is healthy again!

I just discovered how staggering my husband's student debt is so I am not buying myself any new clothes for the next 6 months. (Or anything else, for that matter.) So now the idea of "remixing" will now have new meaning for me. I can do it easily, though! (Plus I have Christmas and a birthday between now and May 5 ;))

Burlington Northern Railroad NW2R 5 at Minneapolis, Minnesota on May 23, 1984, Kodachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 5 was built by EMC as GN NW2 5306 in March 1939 (c/n 865) on Order E219, was renumbered to GN 106, after the merger it became BN 454. According to the 1977-80 Burlington Northern Annual (© 1981 Motive Power Services) it was rebuilt at West Burlington, Iowa and released April 9, 1975 as NW2u 5. A total of four former GN NW2's were rebuilt before the Comprehensive Locomotive Rebuild Program (CLRP) was terminated on August 1, 1975, with the fourth rebuild (19, ex-BN 469) still on the floor. It was finished and released almost a year later.

quote says: "when i was 5 years old, my mom always told me that happiness was the key to life. when i went to school, they asked me what i wanted to be when i grew up. i wrote down 'happy'. they told me i didn't understand the assignment and i told them they didn't understand life."

nrhp # 75000134- The Pier bridge is located about 0.5 miles (0.80 km) east of the former Chandler railroad station in western Newport, crossing the Sugar River at an angle with a roughly east-west orientation. It consists of two Town-Pratt lattice trusses, resting on granite abutments which have been capped by concrete, and a central pier of similar construction. The western span is 106 feet (32 m) long, the eastern one 121 feet (37 m). Its trusses consist of Town-style lattice trusses sandwiched between Pratt trusses. Elements of the truss and lattice networks are joined by a combination of wooden pegging and iron rods, with iron turnbuckles joining some of the chords. The exterior is finished in vertical board siding, with a ventilation gap of about 2 feet (0.61 m) between the siding and the roof.[2]

The bridge was built in 1907 for the Boston and Maine Railroad. The railroad line it was built on dates to 1872, and was built by the Sugar River Railroad, which was merged into the B&M in 1887.[2] The line was operated operated by the B&M until 1954 when it was sold to the Claremont & Concord Railway. The C&C last ran to Newport in 1977 and the line was subsequently abandoned.[3] The bridge is one of two surviving railroad bridges on the line; the other is Wright's Bridge.

A Mitakon 24mm f2.5 lens with Nikon F-mount and AI. Part of a bag of old bits I bought cheap on e-bay. One inner element was rather hazy but I was able to unscrew the rear element set to get to it and give it a clean and all looks good now.

I shot this photo with another lens from the bag of bits. A rather abused Vivitar series 1 70-210mm f3.5 with fungus, dust, dents and a scratch in the front element. I cleaned that up as best I could - I've never taken a lens apart before :). The lens was in macro mode, manually focussed, aperture set to F9.5 and with a fairly slow shutter speed (1/11s I think) triggered with a remote and I've added fill-light in Bibble as it was a bit dark.

This is a 2024 upload of a scanned image from my collection. Probably 95% come from slides, the remaining 5% are prints or negatives. They include my own Kodachrome slides, as well as other photographers, which are noted accordingly when the identity is known. All have been collected over the past 40+ years of shooting, exchanging, and purchasing. I was fortunate enough to trade with some of the best aircraft photographers in the world.

This archive was first created in 2017, to easily view my collection in an accessible venue.

Frame 5 of 15.

Here was the task I gave myself ... 40 minutes to shoot the last 15 frames on this roll of Neopan. I would have to post each image in sequence and I had to finish the roll in 40 minutes.
