A walk from walk to the Tees barrage and back this lunch time. I had to change my planned route as when I got to the whitewater rafting course that they had there it was closed for maintenance. 32 weeks the guy said it would be closed. 32 weeks? They could build a new one in that time surely?
Anyway, I loved the reflections of the barrage in the water - shame the foiliage and jetty (?) had to spoil my symmetry!
Holi - the colorful festival celebrated upon spring arrival (04 March 07) in India. These little ones had fun for hours together.

As it was such a beautiful sunny day - and we haven't had one of those for a while - I decided to put my work on hold for a bit, and go down to the river to watch the afternoon's Torpids races. It was very cold, but lovely. There was a friendly, happy atmosphere, and the smell of the boathouse BBQs was wonderful! Nice to chat to a fellow-photog too, a member of Oxford Photographic Society.

Gannet is a Royal Navy sloop from 1878. The covered slipway was built in 1838. I'm not sure of the history of the naval gun there.
