As we captured this photo we enter the spring season and bring on the spring and summer habits again...mowing the lawn, garden jobs, exercise and exploring, all of these invariably lead to one thing...exhaustion...and the miraculous sensations that’s released when your feet escape your shoes. I think that black and white help to create mood and feeling of the days end exhaustion.
I used 4 incense sticks (broken into 4 pieces for a total of 16 burning ends) and a mosquito coil to get enough smoke to do this outside, we had to wait till the stillest of breezes had died down so that the smoke wafted, but all worthwhile to get the result I wanted (I had a number of shots with a reasonable amount of smoke but this was the closest to what I imagined). I manually blurred the background, as the small sensor size on the compact I used didn't allow me to get the depth of field I wanted even though the aperture was 2.8 (the widest the camera/lens allowed).
