Osteospermum is a genus of flowering plants belonging to the Calenduleae, one of the smaller tribes of the sunflower/daisy family Asteraceae. They are known as the daisybushes or African daisies. It has been given several common names: African daisy, South African daisy, Cape daisy and blue-eyed daisy. Osteospermum used to belong to the genus Dimorphotheca, but only the annual species remain in that genus; the perennials belong to Osteospermum. De vaste trein op R135 van Antwerpse haven naar de site van Wacker Werk AG in Burghausen is ook weer een van de verspeelde treinen van LIneas, die door DB werd overgenomen.

Op de eerste dag werd een iconische bocht in de deelstaat Bayern bezocht; de binnenbocht bij Wettelsheim. Wettelsheim is een klein gehucht ten noorden van Treuchtlingen waar je vrijwel de gehele dag kan fotograferen. De stek die om te zetten is aan het einde van de middag en avond is uiteraard het bekende motief en in mijn ogen dan ook de mooiste.
In fantastische nazomerse omstandigheden, het was bijna 30C, reed één van de weinige DB Cargo Euroduals in de vorm van 159 241 vermoedelijk een trein afkomstig uit Burghausen Wackerwerk naar Antwerpen-W.H. Bundel Zuid. Wettelsheim, 18 september 2025.
Ich hatte meine Kamera gerade eingepackt, um die Stelle zu wechseln, da es langsam Zeit für den Twindexx nach Treuchtlingen wurde. Vollkommen überraschend kam die für DB Cargo fahrende 159 242 mit dem Kesselwagenzug GAGC 48572 von Burghausen Wackerwerk nach Antwerpen-W.H. Bundel Zuid aus dem Esslinger Tunnel gefahren. So knapp vor der Regio hatte ich nicht mehr mit einem Güterzug gerechnet. Schon gar nicht mit einer verkehrsroten Euro Dual, denn der besagte Zug nimmt planmäßig den Weg über Donauwörth. In Rekordzeit wurde die Kamera wieder aktiviert und quasi "aus der Hüfte" dieses Bild geschossen (22. August 2023).
I had just packed my camera to change the location, as it was about time for the Twindexx to Treuchtlingen. Completely unexpectedly, 159 242, running for DB Cargo, came out of the Esslingen tunnel with the tank wagon train GAGC 48572 from Burghausen Wackerwerk to Antwerp-W.H. Bundel Zuid. I hadn't expected to see a freight train so close to the regional train. Especially not a red Euro Dual, because the train in question should take the scheduled route via Donauwörth. The camera was reactivated in record time and this picture was taken "on the fly" (August 22, 2023).

The mansion is surrounded by formal gardens and a series of avenues leading to follies within a larger wooded park. Belton has been described as a compilation of all that is finest of Carolean architecture, the only truly vernacular style of architecture that England had produced since the Tudor period.
The house has also been described as the most complete example of a typical English country house; the claim has even been made that Belton's principal facade was the inspiration for the modern British motorway signs which give directions to stately homes.
For three hundred years, Belton House was the seat of the Brownlow and Cust family, who had first acquired land in the area in the late 16th century. Between 1685 and 1688 Sir John Brownlow and his wife had the present mansion built. Despite great wealth they chose to build a modest country house rather than a grand contemporary Baroque palace.
The contemporary, if provincial, Carolean style was the selected choice of design. However, the new house was fitted with the latest innovations such as sash windows for the principal rooms, and more importantly separate areas for the staff. As the Brownlows rose from baronets to barons upward to earls, successive generations made changes to the interior of the house which reflected their changing social position and tastes.
Following World War I (a period when the Machine Gun Corps was based in the park), the Brownlows, like many of their peers, were faced with mounting financial problems. In 1984 they gave the house away complete with most of its contents. The recipients of their gift, the National Trust, today fully open Belton to the public.

Die noch recht neue Eurodual 241 war hier am Abend des 20 Juli 2023 mit einem Kesselwagenzug unterwegs aus Burghausen Wackerwerk nach Antwerpen unterwegs. Der Zug wird in Kürze Würzburg Hbf erreichen, für die Lok 159 241 ging es an diesem Tag noch bis Oberhausen.
De 186 116 is na haar carrière bij NS in de nieuwe kleuren van Alpha Trains getooid en in dienst gekomen bij DB Cargo. Voor DB is zij op lijn 12 bij Heikant onderweg met tr. 48572 Kijfhoek - Antwerpen. De ketelwagens zijn geladen met azijnzuur.
De infrequent rijdende trein 48572 passeert achter de 186 210 van DB Cargo (ex NMBS 2818). Links is nog net een stukje van het nieuwe raccordement naar het bedrijventerrein te zien wat nimmer in gebruik is genomen. Dit door een blunder in het afgeven van, uiteindelijk tegenstrijdige, vergunningen. Het traject is inmiddels al deels (maar niet onomkeerbaar) 'verborgen'

I hear Adrian from a building, his jet somewhere nearby, with Conrad behind him. He comes running over, jumping quickly with is energy "platform/shield" (whatever it's called), and sees Marc, unconscious. His face is full of guilt.
Noriko: How is he now?
Rory: Critically hurt. Endangered. I need some tech see more of his deeper wounds.
Machine: Calibrating...multiple fractures detected. Lung capacity going down, various bones broken, bullets detected in lower back and front of the body.
Rory: There's no time. I need you to show me the vitals on him. Quickly! Might give him some CPR. He's barely breathing.
Noriko: If I shifted my hand through his body, could i take the bullets out?
Rory: Risky. But if you're willing to take drastic measures, the do it. I'll hook him on life support.
Oscar: For Pete's sake...
Adrian: God, I was to f***ing late. Too late. Why didn't I come earlier? Why?
Noriko: Don't blame yourself...
Adrian: Fine. This is it. Enable protocol G-48572.
Rory: Are you sure? I'm dubious of my ethics.
Conrad: Maybe mediation will give him some energy.
Noriko: This means we have to put him comatose. I tried shifting and took out a few bullets. The machines will have to do that. Save mediation for later.
Rory: I have never saved patients like this but have it your way.
Adrian: We take him back. Call Trent. Now!
Our team leaves the scene, but things aren't that quite right over at Trent's as I rush to join him
At one of Hendrix's bases, location undisclosed:
Trent: I've told you already. Is this what you really want?
Hendrix: You've let the public become aware of us. In this whole war, you and your team led to this!
Trent: So? I was trying to save people. So was P.E. I was given command over things.
Hendrix: I've had enough. That means that well, no choices left for you. Don't even think of rejoining us, because unfortunately, there is not membership left in here for you. Your team is nothing now.
Trent: There are always big things that happened. And to clarify, I'm not even considering joining again. Not gonna happen.
Hendrix: But, here, we've had our fair share of partnership, and we could even merge with them. And now by all means, that is, you are to be exiled. Now give us your weapons, your items, tech, and everything. Even your hat too.
Walker (steps out of shadows): Well...it seems our partnership is pretty good.
Trent: Yeah, P.E. I knew you two bastards would come to this day, this moment. I'm not buying it. And like you've said, it's come to this moment. I'm cutting all ties with you. You're not my father figure anymore. Not even as a friend, or mentor. If this is how you think of me and treat me, then I'll let you do it.
Walker/Hendrix: Very well then.
I see both sides raise their guns at us. Trent's eyes and palms are lit with fire, ready to dispatch anyone. His flames burn some people with ease, as I run through everyone, sais in my hand. Some of my opponents are the ninja dudes, from P.E.'s "martial arts department", which I have a history with, but you know, long story. Then Trent calls me:
Trent: Nori! Do the maneuver!
Noriko: You got it!
Trent quickly makes a fire whirlwind that launches me into the air, which I do a backflip and land on the ground with speed, knocking out more people. That leaves Hendrix and Walker along with some men standing. Walker fires his white pistol at us, launching rays that nearly blasted my ear. He uses his own gun-stick that tries tripping me, while Trent is engaged in CQC with Hendrix. But Trent steps back, calling me again, as he throws multiple gas grenades on the floor, making us disappear.
We arrive back in the base ASAP. Adrian has called an emergency meeting. Marc was still in stasis, and Rory was considering giving him the cryogenic method.
Adrian: It's time. It can't go on any longer. I have to leave. All this time, my dreams have been plaguing me. This team can't go on like this, not even forever. I thought we were starting to fail. And even disband.
Noriko: Don't blame yourself on all of this. I know you feel anger and guilt inside. We all do feel bad, you know, it's been a long day.
Trent: My sister and her friends know about this also. Lockhart will keep her safe. With of this happening, I'm laying low. I'm out.
Rory: I'm staying to look after Marc. This place still needs a doctor. And we could still give information to Marc, just to keep him updated.
Cobb (pats on Rory's back and tries to fistbump him): I'm with him. Tech expert here. I'll work on that information thing, too.
Conrad: Good. Adrian has made his choice also . You will tell them. (nods head to Adrian, who shakes back).
Adrian: I'll be forming my own team. Those people, who are my friends and once police officers, are not part of the LAPD anymore. They will respond to me. Something like black ops. They were never intended to new members to be joining us.
Some team members: *gasping slightly*
Trent: Not a surprise that I've known already. The time he spent in Italy made him constantly rethinking of it. He wanted to headline a new group, planning it on for months. He kept this a secret, and wanted to reveal it when the team had started operating in like what, weeks? months? But anyway, it got delayed and his plans just came into motion.
Adrian: And this is it. As part of my last commands, the main ones are: I will be stepping down as leader. Noriko Hayashi, you will be a leader, and that is your choice to take. As for Oscar Hicks, you are inducted in as a honorary member. I will be leading the Grey Police from now on.
Oscar: Cool, I guess.
Noriko: Even though, I'll be paying visits to my family in Japan occasionally. How about actually, you know, also name it Paradox Grey? Make it a subsidiary, another division that could still keep this team going?
Adrian: Good idea. But still, I believe we are disbanding. You could still go on with your separate lives. Nothing can convince me yet.
Our group leaves the room, except for me, who Adrian called me to stay.
Noriko: What is it?
Adrian: I've given this to Trent already. Read my letter if you ever have the time. You can still show your friends if you ever need it. Today, I'm so proud of you, because you became a leader in your own right, when the other two leaders weren't here, and you managed to lead a team. I know how there's going to be pressure around you, but you've got to get these guys into shape. Train them more. And one last thing....you were always like a sister to me, like a one that I never had.
He smiles at me before leaving the room, and I see him running out with Trent and Conrad into the dark. But that isn't until six months later.....

Op zaterdag 29 juni besloot ik met de trein naar Welkenraedt te gaan wegens eventuele omleidingen van goederentreinen op de Montzenroute, omdat het grensbaanvak Montzen - Aken-West dicht was. Echter ging dit plan niet door omdat er toch een deel van het grensbaanvak open werd gehouden. Ik besloot dan maar een dag te spenderen in Lier en Mortsel. Veel verkeer was er niet, maar toch kon ik nog enkele leuke cargo's fotograferen, zoals deze azijnzuurtrein getrokken door een DIG (Das ist grün) Vectron, op de inmiddels welgekende stek in Mortsel langs L27A.

Why we have fenders - Since the weather forecast called for deteriortating conditions throughout the day on Sunday, we got an early start for our bike ride. Sure enough the meteorologists were correct. The loop was Boulder-Flagstaff Rd. to Gross Reservoir to Coal Creek Canyon to Nederland where we gorged on the lunch buffet and bottomless chai at Kathmandu Restaurant.We saw no other bikers out today, and Julie pointed out that all of 4 of us have fenders on our bikes. Yeah, if you didn't have fenders, you wouldn't want to be out riding today. For this kind of weather some people buy cable TV, and some people buy fenders. I'm sure we missed some good football games...It's probably just my optimistic attitude, but it didn't seem to rain very much until we stepped inside the restaurant in Ned. From our warm seats inside, we watched continuous rain, sleet, hail, and snow. We were content to drink chai and wait for 3:30PM bus back to Boulder, what would have been a 3000 ft. soggy, cold descent.
