57314 (tnt 47812) at Woolascott with 5Z90 1100 Carnforth Steamtown - Pengam Sidings Northen Belle ECS. 15-11-22

A Greater Anglia 360 unit arrives at Manningtree on a Ipswich to London Liverpools st service. With taped up seats the buffet closed, very few passengers and a class 47 on standby, What a weird situation.

WCR 47812 &47815 Top & Tail the 1Z60 Skegness - Edinburgh through Metheringham Station 4th August 2022.

47812 heads the empty stock 5Z09 Southall WCR - Lincoln Central, seen approaching the station with 57314 Conwy Castle bringing up the rear. After a short rest up, the train became the Charter 1Z09 Lincoln Central - Ely North Junction via Newark, Peterborough & March 9th June 2022. Worthy of note is that this loco is now devoid of branding having previously operated for Rail Operating Group (ROG).

Not long out of the Paint Shop 47812 at Leicester L.I.P carrying it's short lived revised Rail Operations Group livery on the 22/6/20. The Loco is now in Service for West Coast Railways based at Carnforth

An immaculate 86101 heads south near Middlewich with the Compass Tours 6.33 Carlisle to Holyhead "The Ynys Mon Express". Green Liveried 47812 & 47815 would work the charter from Crewe to Holyhead. 86101 is now in Inter-city swallow livery and operating with Locomotive Services Ltd at Crewe.

From the records, this ran about an hour late from the schedule. Was around Carmont then the light faded so, Scotston (Laurencekirk) was chosen for the evening June light. And the record for this, 47812 was still in its plain blue colours!

47812 is seen powering through Church Fenton dragging 82222 + a failed 91114. The working was 5Z14 the 10.53 York to Neville Hill T&R.S.M.D 02/02/2025.

 

For the second time in a couple of weeks Wcrc`s 47812 has been called to assist a 91 + a mk4 set failing near or in York , This time it was 91114 which couldn`t raise its pantograph whilst sat at York stations platform 6 so 1Y14 the 08.00 York to Peterborough was cancelled.

GBRf 47812/843 Pause at Carlisle working the charity Railtour the Noah's Ark from Glasgow Central to Newcastle.

47812 "Pride of Eastleigh" hammers up Narroways Junction in Bristol. Built at Brush Falcon Works in 1964, it also carried the numbers 47 239 and 47 657. It currently survives with the Rail Operations Group.

I found that essence rare, it's what I looked for

Having returned to Leeds from Kirkby Stephen on 1E65, I was aware that 47812 was hauling 91109 and set NL15 back to Neville Hill.

 

91109 had failed at Colton Junction at mid-day working 1Y84 and returned under its own power back into York station. The 47 was despatched from Newark to haul it via Doncaster to Neville Hill, running round at Doncaster being more operationally sensible than running round in rush hour Leeds station.

 

But which platform would it go through at Leeds? 9 would be good. 9 it would be.

 

47812 hauls 91109 through Leeds station with 5G84, 14.45 York to Neville Hill.

 

And Gang of Four? One of my favourite Leeds bands along with Chumbawamba, Girls at our Best, Yard Act, and The Wedding Present.

47812 takes a class 365 unit from Storage at Crewe to Ilford

47848 "Titan Star" and 47812 are seen passing through Platform 5 at York working 5V47 05:15 Kilmarnock (Barclay Sdgs) to Laira T.& R.S.M.D.

Still in the previous owners livery apart from a cabside sticker,ex Virgin 47812 passes Battledown on 16/March/2004 with a Wentloog to Southampton liner.

Carrying its original number D1916, 47812 passes Norton Bavant with Compass Tours' 'Western Cathedrals Express' from Mossley Hill (Liverpool) to Salisbury on 21 April, 2007. 47853 was on the rear. The loco's full yellow end echoes the flowering rapeseed field beyond - a fortunate combination!

47813 (47812 on the rear) passes through Tyseley working 1Z33 1300 London Marylebone - Birmingham Moor Street. This was an additional service run by Chiltern during the Euston blockade.

37510 passes Beighton box with only a few weeks life left of the old structure. The headboard says resistance is futile. The loco on the back 47813 was later required to rescue 47812 on the Eastleigh to Worksop which stopped at Rotherham Masborough.

We have seen some unusual traction and stock lash-ups in the past few weeks.

Case in point here as WCRC 57010 hauls dead in tow 57009 'G.J. Churchward, two former Rail Express Services GUV’s with 47812 tacked on the back all en-route to Carnforth Steamtown from Burton Wetmore Sidings.
