On a very brisk windy but bright day it was great to see a Jubilee along the ECML. Steam Dreams operated this charter starting at Ealing Broadway for the run along the ECML to York. LMS Jubilee Class 4-6-0 No 45596 Bahamas was speeding along on this section just north of Claypole loop. I was most fortunate with the light as you can see by the last few coaches still in dark shadow. Sadly those by the crossing at the rear of the train were not so lucky a big cloud taking the light at the crucial moment. My first sight of a Jubilee along the ECML shame it was only steam one way.

On a very warm blustery evening LMS Stanier 6P (Jubilee) Class 4-6-0 No 45596 'Bahamas' heads 1Z80, the 15.38 York - Ealing Broadway RTC's 'Yorkshireman' railtour.

Restored Jubilee Class 4-6-0 45596 "Bahamas" heads north over Dandrymire Viaduct with the Bahamas Railtour charter train from Keighley to Carlisle on a stormy February 22nd 2020. On a day like this with the southern part of the Yorkshire Dales under water, it's hard to imagine anything less like the Bahamas than this!

Operated by West Coast Railways.
As far as I know, this was the first time that Bahamas has worked through Retford.

On a damp overcast morning in Somerset steam locomotive 45596 Bahamas makes hard work pulling her rake of 11 coaches through Witham Friary with 1Z70 0700 Paddington to Minehead West Somerset Steam Express, the last one of the season.
The train had stopped at Frome to take on water, was about 5 min down, and was regaining momentum on a slightly wet rail.
Having detached the Black 5 at Haworth loop, British Railways green liveried Stanier designed 'Jubilee' 4-6-0 no.45596 'Bahamas’ heads for Oxenhope with the 15:30 Keighley-Oxenhope train. A green Jubilee again in sun, what’s not to like again!

London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) Jubilee Class 5596 (BR number 45596) Bahamas is a preserved British steam locomotive. It is named after The Bahamas.
The locomotive was built as a standard Jubilee Class in 1934 by the North British Locomotive Company for the London Midland & Scottish Railway (LMS). In May 1961, under the ownership of British Railways, Bahamas was the recipient of several experimental modifications aimed at improving the steam engine. In July 1966, Bahamas was withdrawn from traffic. A preservation society was founded and raised the money to purchase it from British Rail to prevent it from being scrapped. After repairs by the Hunslet Engine Company in Leeds Bahamas was transported to Dinting Railway Museum, near Glossop, Derbyshire

Mid Hants with 45596 - Bahamas. Just over a week ago I posted an image of this loco during sunset. At the time we were lucky to get 4 runs - the first two with the sun still up, the 3rd with the sun partially down and final 4th run with the sun completely down. Here are runs 2, 3 and 4 (DSC 4331)
