NTC 244, Lancashire United Transport 448, a Foden PVD6 with an unusual looking Northern Counties body, new to LUT in September 1951. Foden were not the largest producer of bus chassis in the UK but they did have a following. Photographer and date unknown, would estimate early to mid 1960s. (Collection).
Tras varios días de absoluta desidia (en cuanto a trenes), de salidas infructuosas y lamentaciones varias creo que llega el momento de reengancharme al carro del aporte, aunque sea agarrándome a las churrifotos que tengo por ahí.
Es el turno de otro 448 (sí, más), aunque esta vez se trata de un "lavadoro". Particularmente esta estética tan antiestética me resultaba atractiva. Eran diferentes... y resultones.
Lo curioso fue que no sabemos muy bien cómo acabamos ahí, entre la vía y el muro. Comenzamos a recorrer con el coche caminos de huerta hasta que dimos con la línea... y ahí que nos quedamos. Se puede ver que la época de la "valla a mansalva" aún no había llegado, y ello me lleva a decir a quien interese que sacar fotos desde una posición así no es nada recomendable. Hoy en día un servidor no lo hace y aconsejo a las nuevas generaciones que no lo hagan. Sencillamente, resulta peligroso. Pero ya se sabe, la juventud hace que se cometan algunas locuras.
¿El servicio? Un Valencia - Barcelona de los de toda la vida...

I see someone's got one of those new floating TV dishes.
Long time, no see 36! By some bizarre circumstance it's been 6 months since I last properly photographed a Nottingham City Transport 36, which must surely be the longest gap since I started bus spotting circa 10 years ago. Since I last photted a branded bus, the day ticket price has gone in favour of "pay with contactless" and the £2 fare promotion stickers are out in force.
On the subject of long absences from the 36, welcome back 448! This bus disappeared in 2021, presumably being rebuilt after an accident, long before the 22 plates were added and interworking with the 35 began. Not sure when it re-entered service as it definitely wasn't reported by NCT fleet news, or any other enthusiasts from what I can see, so I more or less just stumbled across it here.
In fact, truth be told, I didn't even notice this was 448 until I came to uploading the photo on Flickr. I knew I'd seen 448, as I got a shaky picture from the tram of it working a 35B, but this one is better overall. I can tick off all the orange line biogas buses with route 35/36 branding now, since 448 being out of traffic meant it was the last one outstanding I had in only 36 branding.
Arriving into Beeston Interchange on 21.6.23, past the building works for the toilets and a stray Tesco trolley, 448 is heading for Victoria Centre. In the background are some of the wonderful businesses of Beeston, such as Dog Transport which transports dogs, and Indian Tap which is where you buy taps made in India.

Tras llegar dias antes desde Valladolid, esta unidad fue la última 448 de tres coches operativa que ha perdido la librea antigua naranja para recibir la actual pantone de renfe.....

todos los martes iba al centro, rutina adquirida por el hecho de que ese día cursaba a la tarde (por suerte ya metí esa materia!) al laboratorio a retirar algún revelado, o a dejar algún rollo, casi siempre en el camino ultimaba un rollo para apurar y ya mandarlo.
