The MRL is like a fine wine, it gets better with age.
This by far my favourite shot of 2014, and it almost didn't work out. After getting Mullered several times due to clouds that wouldn't move, we continued our chase of the Night Gas/Paradise combo when we happened upon this spot. With the road between the mountainside and a guardrail on the river side, there wasn't much of an option to stop. Chris let me out of the car to set up and drove off to find a better spot to park. When I set up, there was full sun here, then the sun dipped behind a cloud. After a minute and the train being a quarter mile away, the sun began to appear again. I grabbed this filtered-sun shot and I turned around to see Chris running (not jogging, running) to get his shot. I think he was still slowing down as he grabbed his shots. After a long, frustrating chase out of Missoula, this shot made the chase and trip worth it.
