It's a scorcher here today with temps in the 80's. Here is a cool 30 image. LA&L C430 #433 leads the road train out of Genesee Jct. in Chili, NY with just 5 cars on February 19, 2021. When the train crosses the Genesee River bridge it will be in the town of Brighton.
Am Haltepunkt Luhe an der Strecke Schwandorf - Weiden befindet sich ein schön restauriertes Bahnhofsgebäude, das sich gut von der Straßenbrücke mit Zügen Richtung Weiden umsetzen lässt. Die letzten Jahre störten allerdings die langen Schatten von großen Bäumen am Hang rechts und der Blick war nur etwas kompromissbehaftet umsetzbar. Erfreulicherweise wurden einige Bäume dieses Jahr gefällt, sodass das Motiv nun weitgehend schattenfrei umsetzbar ist.
218 433 traf ich hier am 11.06.2025 mit RE 4860 von München nach Hof an.
At Luhe station on the Schwandorf-Weiden line, there is a beautifully restored station building, which is easily accessible from the road bridge with trains heading towards Weiden. In recent years, however, the long shadows cast by large trees on the slope to the right have been disturbing, making the view difficult to achieve. Fortunately, some trees were felled this year, so the position can now be achieved largely without shadows.
I photographed 218 433 here on June 11, 2025, arriving with RE 4860 from Munich to Hof.
LA&L 433 & 425 depart Lakeville, NY at Conesus Lake Jct. with 23 cars on September 3, 2021. This was my first chance at getting the 433 leading a Northbound since it and the 428 were wyed over a month ago. The 433 now points short hood North, and the 428 is now pointed short hood South.
Dne 14.12.2019. se konala akce s názvem "Párou Blanenskými tunely " k příležitosti 170 let od zahájení provozu na spojovací dráze mezi Brnem a Českou Třebovou. Hlavním bodem programu byli jízdy zvláštního vlaku na trati Brno hl. n. - Rájec-Jestřebí a zpět sestavených z historických vozů bývalé třetí třídy a vedených parní lokomotivou 433.001 z roku 1948. Snímek byl zachycen při výjezdu z tunelu mezi Adamov zastávka -Blansko .
218 433 überquert am Morgen des 09.05.2024 mit RE 4857 nach München das Viadukt über den Regen in Regenstauf. In wenigen Minuten erreicht der Zug seinen nächsten Halt Regensburg, wo eine 146 den Zug übernehmen wird.
Die schwimmenden Gärten auf dem flachen See werden aus Schlick und dem Wurzelwerk der üppig wachsenden Wasserhyazinthen gebaut und mit Bambusstangen im Boden verankert. Diese schwankende Konstruktion kann von Menschen nicht betreten werden, deshalb werden die Felder vom Boot aus bewirtschaftet. Mehrere Ernten pro Jahr von Tomaten, Gurken, Auberginen und anderen Gemüsen sind möglich. Wikipedia

The Southbound LA&L freight is rolling into Avon, NY with 9 cars on July 17, 2020. They did have 14 cars, but dropped off 5 at Howletts. I spent the afternoon at home in the AC and ventured back out just before 5pm. I did a walk in shot in Rush, and waited there about an hour before the train came.
218 433 war vormittags mit RE 4859 nach Regensburg unterwegs und konnte bei der Durchfahrt in Windischeschenbach abgelichtet werden.
LA&L 433 & 426, running elephant style, have 27 cars as they snake through the ess curves in the woods in Avon, NY on February 5, 2026.
Alle zwei Stunden verkehren zwischen Regensburg und Hof die RE 2 mit 218. Mittlerweile läuft der Verkehr auch deutlich zuverlässiger im Vergleich zu den größeren Schwierigkeiten am Anfang der Verkehrsübernahme. 218 433 zieht am Abend des 20.09.2024 den RE 4862 gen Hof. Die Aufnahme entstand kurz nach Wernberg an den bekannten Teichen. Leider wächst diese Stelle auch immer mehr zu, sodass hier mittlerweile ein Hochstativ oder eine Leiter erforderlich ist.
Auf dem Weg nach Regensburg befand sich 218 433 mit einem RE2 und konnte bei Pfreimd abgelichtet werden.

Mit einem RE2 nach München war 218 433 bei Pfreimd in der Oberpfalz zu sehen, welche den aus 5 Wagen gebildeten Zug nach Regensburg beförderte.

Neben 403 und 443 war an diesem Tag noch 218 433 im Einsatz zwischen Hof und Regensburg. Bei Pfreimd wurde die gepflegte Lok erwartet.

LA&L 433 puts out some smoke as it is started in Avon, NY on May 16, 2025. Because of the track project between Avon and Lakeville the road train power was kept at Avon on occasion. The crew would run to Lakeville on the Southbound run at night and then turn back to Avon with cars out of Lakeville.

LA&L 433 & 425 head through the cut in the farm fields South of Golah Road in Rush, NY with 40 cars on January 9, 2025.
LA&L 433 - 426 - 425 start the shove move to Brooks on the Rochester & Southern in Chili, NY on February 12, 2026. I did the full Northbound chase because the 433 was leading. Since the 433 has been banned from the trackage into Diamond Packaging it does not get used unless there is a large quantity of cars to come South.
LA&L 433 and 425 arrive at Genesee Junction in Chili, NY with 13 cars on August 4, 2026. I hiked in on the Greenway Trail to get here. I think it is about a half mile walk from the road. With the train speed at only 10mph on the LA&L because of the tie replacement project, it is easy to get the train at locations that would have been tough to get to in time normally. The Greenway Trail comes out right at the East end of the yard at GJ.
LA&L 433 leads the Northbound road train of 23 cars across the little bridge over Pole Bridge Road in Avon, NY on September 3, 2021. On September 30, a utility company boom truck hit the bridge, severely damaging it. The bridge needs to be replaced and currently has a 10mph speed restriction over it.
I always wanted to get a pic of the LA&L with the old Lehigh Valley bridge. This tele view from Golah Road in Rush, NY works, as the train heads South, with LA&L 433 & 420 working hard with 33 cars on the evening of July 31, 2020. The bridge in the distance was once part of the LV main, now a rail trail.
The LA&L road train has just shoved their RSR cars into Brooks Yard in Gates, NY on January 20, 2025.
Der Bahnhof Nabburg und sein Umfeld bieten sehr vielfältige Möglichkeiten für verschiedene Umsetzungen über den ganzen Tag verteilt. Der abendliche Blick auf das Bahnhofsgebäude und die dazugehörige Umgebung konnten am 12.05.2024 mit 218 433 und RE 4867 (Weiden - München) erfolgreich eingefangen werden. Wegen Bauarbeiten enden/beginnen die RE 2 aktuell in Weiden und fahren nicht wie sonst üblich bis Hof.

Skrócona relacja i nietypowe zestawienie pociągu spowodowane było modernizacją linii kolejowej po stronie czeskiej pomiędzy Harrachovem a Tanvaldem.
Szklarska Poręba (Rozdroże Wiciarka) II Motor unit 810 433-3 with trailer 93-29 063-7 and motor unit 810 510-8, operating as KD-Os 97056 on the Harrachov – Szklarska Poręba Górna route, passes by a picturesque pond near Rozdroże Wiciarka. The shortened service and the unusual train formation were due to track modernization works on the Czech side of the line, between Harrachov and Tanvald.
LA&L 433 & 420 arrive at Avon, NY with 33 cars on July 31, 2020. The field along the tracks at Barilla Drive had recently been mowed. The Southbound road train generally arrives back at Avon between 6 & 7pm. They will drop off the Avon cars, switch Barilla, then head to Lakeville. The longer days of Summer afford the opportunity to catch them in some nice late afternoon & early evening light.

Vergangenes Frühjahr wurde an der alten Eisenbahnbrücke in Pirkensee ordentlich freigeschnitten - mittlerweile ist hier bereits wieder Urwald und das Motiv lässt sich zumindest so nicht mehr umsetzen. 218 433 fuhr mit einem RE 2 in Richtung Regensburg.
