Tower 42 is the third tallest skyscraper in the City of London and the eighth tallest in Greater London. Its original name was the NatWest Tower, having been built to house NatWest's international headquarters.

Erbaut wurde das Objekt mit seinen 13 Obergeschossen in einer Zeit, in der insbesondere in der Innenstadt Düsseldorfs die Stadtenwicklung mit der Erstellung von neuen Verwaltungsgebäuden, Geschäftshäusern und Bürozentren boomte.
Das rwi4 wurde 1974 fertiggestellt und umfasst heute rund 47.000 Quadratmeter Nutzfläche. Damit wurde der architektonisch hervorstechende und aus Aluminium und Glas erbaute Hochhauskomplex schon lange vor den gläsernen Pracht-Bürohäusern heutiger Tage erstellt.
Es besteht aus den vier markanten, silbern schimmernden Türmen sowie den zweigeschossigen Flachbauten, welche die Türme miteinander verbinden und als zentrales Element den repräsentativen Empfangsbereich beherbergen.
Heute stellt das Haus einen repräsentativen Standort dar, dessen umliegender Flächenbesatz hervorragende Möglichkeiten auch außerhalb der Bürozeiten bietet.
Als Landmark zwischen Medienhafen und City befindet sich das rwi4 mitten im Düsseldorfer Regierungsviertel in einer einzigartigen Lage direkt am Rhein.

This gate is on the outside of a building within the River Arts District called Level 42 Gallery & Studio. It's really cool looking, especially with the graffiti on either side and behind it. I did a color and B&W version and ultimately think I prefer the focus on the gate the monochromatic image provides.
One-of-a-kind MNNR 42 has detached from its train in the yard while switching. The yard was not too busy on this day, but these change change day-to-day. Nice not to have an intensely smokey sky for a change.
