This one is a little soft, but the sound of 716, 796 and another 30 on train 418 was pretty awesome coming up Byron Hill at almost sunset on Labor Day weekend 1979.
The 418 was one of my favorite LA&L engines. Here it is at the yard in Avon, NY on December 7, 2018. It had just finished pulling the 2 hoppers on the left out of Barilla, and was headed down to sort syrup tankers for Kraft. Gone, but not forgotten.
ONCT 418 is parked in front of the shops at Lakeville, NY on July 30, 2007. This unit was sent to Hornell to be painted and ended up on a tour of some of the NS, ending up at Conway. It was a long trip to Hornell from there! It served on the ONCT until that road became part of the Finger Lakes Railway. The 418 then was sent to the LA&L and eventually lettered as the LA&L 418.

Egyek
Tavaly ilyenkor még témában jóval gazdagabb volt a hortobágyi vasútvonal, a Púposos Tisza-tó sebes mellett még javában jártak klasszik Csörgős, klasszik Bhv-s személyvonatok a vonalon. A kiadás változó volt, volt hogy csak Csörgők, volt hogy csak Bz-k jártak, de azért bőven ki lehetett fogni egységes, telikék vonatokat, néha még a Csörgőhöz tartozó 100-as BDt vezérlők is üzemszerűen működtek, lehetővé téve az ingavonati közlekedést.
Idén a 108-as vonali vágányzár aktuális állásától függően többnyire Miskolc helyett Debrecen telepállomás adja a járműveket a vonalra, így a tavaly amúgy is a forgalomból kivont klasszik Bhv-k helyett fecske-Bhv-kal lehet utazni, a vonóerőt pedig debreceni remot Csörgők biztosítják.

LA&L 418 at the yard in Lakeville, NY on February 10, 2010. The 418 was the usual switcher in Lakeville until it was wrecked in 2019. Now LA&L 72 is the most common unit to be found switching in town.
During the summer of 2018 the LA&L was adding an addition to their main building in Lakeville, NY. During the construction it was necessary to keep all the power outside. On Sunday afternoon July 15, 2018 the inbound road train has been parked on the main and 418 is parked in the yard.

Az Eszterházy Károly Egyetem hallgatóinak különvonata halad Szilvásvárad felé. A látványos, 5 kocsis személyvonat felidézi a szebb napokat látott 87-es vonal múltját, amikor még nem csak 2-3 kocsis motorvonatok jártak erre, hanem méretesebb személy- és tehervonatok is megfordultak Eger és Putnok között.
