Japanese Maple with the shredded decorative leaves....or am I a Dwarf Alberta Spruce?

Part of me says Maple cause it's sooo showy and this sheltered spot is ideal for it...but part of me says "think of winter! the snow on the branches of an evergreen will be wonderful"
