Walking locally in Healdwood, Stockport looking for Macro subjects when I spotted this single bird feather caught on a fern frond. Seemed a good everyday subject to photograph particularly as the three main colours worked well together. I took three images and stacked them.
The Mountain Bluebird is one of my favorite birds to photograph in the summer. Male taken north of Calgary, Alberta.

27.05.23 - 404 is seen in Rosewell on the 49. From tomorrow (28th May) this service will be curtailed to operate only as far as the Royal Infirmary. The Rosewell to RIE section is to be replaced by a new service 46 operating to Musselburgh
Providence and Worcester B40-8 #4004 leads a 29 car train of C&D and lumber for Davisville underneath the Rt. 116 viaduct in Ashton. This is one of my favorite locations on the mainline. Quintessential Industrial Revolution architecture and mill buildings (behind me) create an excellent backdrop for railroad photography. The mills along the Blackstone River all played a part in the start of the American Industrial Revolution, and the Ashton Mill was one of them. Tons of cool history down here along the river.

Van lijn 12 gaan we dan logisch door naar lijn 4. Waar er aan de Belgisch-Nederlandse grens tot pakweg een jaar geleden op treingebied zeer weinig te beleven viel, is het sinds april 2018 stukken verbeterd. Naast de Benelux rijden er nu ook Eurostars over lijn 4. Op lijn 4 zijn die treinen niet eenvoudig goed met de zon te fotograferen, maar op sommige plaatsen gaat het nog net.
Deze Eurostar 9171 (Amsterdam Centraal - Brussel-Zuid) is net de grens over gereden en rijdt aan zeer hoge snelheid richting station Antwerpen en Brussel. Het treinstel van dienst was de 4004 (en 4003). Dit stel deed een aantal jaar geleden ook al homologatieritten in België.
In de ochtend van 28 mei 2021 is de 4004 van Europorte net het grensstation van Quévy gepasseerd met een graantrein naar Antwerpen.

In afwachting van meer vrije tijd na afloop van de examens eind deze week, toon ik vandaag nog een foto van eerder dit jaar in Mortsel. Op maandag 6 februari fotografeerde ik er loc 4004 van Europorte met graanwagons richting Bobigny (FR).
PW B40-8 4004 sits in Plainfield on the Willimantic Branch awaiting pickup from WONR. The 4004 is the former NYSW 4002, and one of the better looking standard cab B40s on the roster, in my humble opinion.
