A Great Northern Railway 15 ton “lowmac” machinery wagon, built at Doncaster in 1909, E414130 at Wansford, Nene Valley Railway, 3rd May 2009.. For a relative rare type of wagon it is surprising how many “lowmac” wagons have survived in preservation. Any further information or detail regarding this vehicle gratefully received.

Locomotive History
73050 was built at Derby works, being released to traffic on the 14th April 1954. It did not enter traffic immediately as it was chosen to represent the class at the "International Railway Congress” at Willesden, London between 26th and 29th May 1954.On entering traffic 73050 was one of three Standard class 5’s allocated to Bath Green Park MPD (73050 – 73052) for Somerset and Dorset line duties from Bath to Bournemouth. For these duties these three engines were built with the larger BR1G tender (normally fitted to Standard class 9F locomotives) which held 5000 gallons of water and 7 tons of coal. Whilst these tenders held slightly more water than most of the other types of BR1 tender fitted to the Standard class 5 locomotives (BR1 – 4250 gallons, BR1B – 4725 gallons, BR1C – 4725 gallons, BR1H – 4250 gallons) they were not the largest, which was the BR1F tender paired to 73110 – 73119 which held 5625 gallons. If water was an issue on the Somerset and Dorset line one wonders why the BR1F was not used on these three engines.

Arriva Colchester Metrobus 5361 BYX301V was new to London Transport as M301. When London Buses was divided into districts which eventually became separate companies, she passed to Leaside, which was sold to the Cowie Group in 1994. The Cowie Group rebranded itself Arriva in 1997. Colchester Borough Transport was a subsidiary of the British Bus Group that Cowie took over in 1996. Arriva transferred several Metrobuses to Colchester to replace the Leyland Atlanteans that were in the Colchester fleet foe several years. She is seen at Colchester North Rail station on 3 May 2001

Taken from a wall painting in Strasburg main station. I can't quite make out what the Emperor was doing; he died the following year and was succeeded by his son who survived him by 87 days; he was succeeded by his son Wilhelm II who died in 1941.
