The resistor on bottom failed (mostly shorting) causing the extruder to no longer heat up.
This failure was not visible without removing the resistor.
I soldered in the replacement resistor, and the lulzbot is back in business.

I might've dropped the radiator and broken the mount for the castor wheel. After some dilligence I was able to remove the broken mount.
Eventually I got around to 3d printing a new foot (the one on the left above). I would've liked to have made the same rounded edge, but I was running out of patience.

the tendrils don't really shine at 100%, and I think they'd probably be even nicer at 200%.
I still have some clean up to do... mostly get the support material out of his mouth.
Here you can see some texture arising from the fill being a bit over-zealous. This actually made me feel a bit better. It is hard to explain, but so far this machine is so superior to my CupCake, I'm sorta glad to see it isn't perfect (yet).
So far the Replicator is:
quieter
way less stinky (melting plastic)
makes cooler noises (more like R2-D2 than a vintage electric razor)
more precise with a bigger area, of course
smarter and more interactive without a computer
nicer docs (wiki is cool, but paper still is nicer)
more trustworthy (I had to watch that CupCake like a hawk... always required in-flight tweaking)
more as a I come across them

This rapid prototyping company likes to do life size action figures. I think last year they had an Angelina Jolie but she was just 3ft. This guy was about 6ft tall.
Good news! The replacement pulley came today (4/20). I installed it and discovered that my idler pulley was not terribly well centered and may help explain the damage to the previous motor pulley. I had previously put two washers on one side of the idler pulley. But it seems more like it should have a washer on either side.
Put it all back together, and the extruder works again!
Bad news! The heated build platform stopped working. It seems that the FET can't handle the load. The LED wasn't lighting up. Until I unplugged the power line for the HBP and then the LED worked... but just touching the leads made it go out. When I touched the leads to the nozzle power the platform lit up immediately.
Good news! The new RepG program lets you swap the "spare" channel in for one of the other channels.
Bah... now I have to upgrade all that stuff. I was hoping to avoid upgrading until I got stuff working again. But I guess I'm close enough.
