this is much closer to what the red really looks like

 

however, because of its phosphorescence, the color can vary depending on how much blue and/or UV light illuminates it

 

also, I was pleased that the flash brought out the "real" red and washed the black background away to virtual nothingness

 

more usual warm/yellow-ish "indoor" lighting appears a deep vibrant red as pictured, where with daylight, it becomes much brigher (as seen in the Canada Opener photo with the black background)

A very new 3D printer from the US company Asiga: Pico, which uses a liquid photopolymer and prints with a high accuracy of 37.5 microns

The laptop decided to sleep... the makerbot stopped moving, but did not stop extruding. I'd left it unattended and assumed that its silence indicated successful completion. oops.

 

Luckily there's no damage to the makerbot.
