unfortunately this pulley is missing a set screw, which means the whole unit now cannot properly move in the z axis. I will have to call for a replacement. *sigh*

UPDATE: A replacement part is on its way! And I think I might have a temporary non destructive solution involving a matchstick and a nylon tie.

UPDATE UPDATE: I received the replacement set screw, yay! Although I have to admit how odd it was to receive an envelope with this tiny tiny screw in it. It was in a bag attached to a post card, but still, so much effort for such a simple little thing.

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE: I realize now that one of the other identical wheels had the set screw, but didn't actually need it (on the x or y platform). So... woops.

These are samples I ordered to print at iMaterialise. One of them is made of sintered 420 stainless steel and bronze powder. Another one is "raw" resin sample created by laser photolithography. The metal one is going to be polished and sand-blasted as well as threaded to make it functional. The translucent one has the main purpose of analyzing the structure.

looked ok, but failed during "loosening" pla is so sticky compared to ABS for this purpose

This was printed before I had the belts tightened properly and yet the end results are still not too bad.

The Beast's rear mudguard suffices to protect me from the plashy roads of winter in the Basse-Loire, but does little for the boy if he's behind on the trailer bike. Its extension was therefore essential. After a mere 20 hours or so messing with Blender and FreeCAD, and some help from the good folks at PiNG, I was able to print the part: www.plateforme-c.org/compte-rendu-jeudi-10-decembre-2015/

For various technical reasons (like, it was falling apart) I decided to augment it with a bit of gaffer tape, and this is the end result. Mark II is planned.

Another one of my 3D printing projects! A Cthulhu Jack-O-Lantern. It fits in the palm on your hand. It has a removable lid so a small LED can fit inside to make it glow.
