The green biodegradable plastic is melted at 195C in this extrusion part and squeezed out to print the programmed object.
This 3d printer was seen at the Cantine (in Paris) during the Think Print Event.

Today I've been getting ready for the second semester of teaching which starts next week.
Sorting out the marking for shared modules and setting a few student projects running on the 3D printer in my office has taken up most of the day.
There's still lots of little scrappy jobs to get out of the way as well as a couple of larger projects too, but it's starting to move forward.
It's going to be a busy couple of months I think.
Camera used: the Pinhead 3D printed 4X5 camera (a photo of it appears in my recent photo stream) with a laser-drilled pinhole of 0.40mm
Film used: Ilford Ortho Plus shot at 50ASA, plus reciprocity. Processed in D76 stock solution.
"Held together with twine and hope" should be the way this is described.
