Making of, one of the ideas, the inside of one sqaure would fullfill the requirements for size of 75 x 75 mm for Macro Mondays size restriction. There for the title.

Other then this, fine dark chocolodad, pralinees from a well know german brand, and not eaten. So close to food fotography, but not some extra calories , not yet eaten.

My grandson produced this recently on his 3D printer....this is way over my head!

With a final gluing, this almost-full-sized baby will be complete. It is an exact 18x copy of my LEGO-scale BrickArms Needle gun.

All of the components were printed in pieces (blue, purple, pink, magenta) in Gizmo Dorks ABS filament, on my Ultimaker 2 at .12mm layer height. There are registration pins in each half (hidden in the photo) that I'll use to align the parts during gluing. Oatey ABS glue (found at Home Depot) is used to glue the parts together. The individual needles will be glued in place as well.

I may vapor polish the finished Needler it if I can get a decent-sized vapor booth constructed. A metal trash can, lined with acetone-soaked paper towels should work, as long as it is warm enough to get some evaporation to occur.

This has been much less forgiving when printing.

Much faster, hope it won't wear itself out too fast!

My son got a 3D printer for his birthday. It sat in the box for a few weeks until we cleared some space to put it. Once we opened it today, we quickly found that it was a returned unit and that the previous owner had destroyed the print head/extruder. An hour later after my wife gave the person at Amazon the reaming of a lifetime, a new unit is on the way on Monday. Lesson for the day: Do not mess with an Amazon Prime Mom.

Printing an articulated bearded dragon, somewhat uncanny to watch this being created

A test of the "put stuff inside the camera body" idea. I put some Grape tendrils between two layers of "cling film" laid between two of the sections of the Zero Image 4x5 camera. I like some of the effect I see, but this needs refinement.

Printing the body for my new statuette! I'll work on cleaning him up and doing a junk mold soon!

3D printed horse showing the generated supports that are needed when printing any overhangs. These are called tree supports for obvious reasons. This is my largest print so far and has almost 500 layers.

No, I didn't 3D print these. They came with my new Solidoodle 2. The screen-printed toothbrush, used to clean ABS dust out of the extruder wheels, is a nice touch. Solidoodle is a class act.

While trying to dislodge a print, I've already managed to gouge the Kapton tape on the printer bed with the metal spatula. I looked like a blind chimpanzee poking at a banana with an Xacto knife. Learning curve, baby..learning curve.

This video shows how the Ultimaker 2 3D printer using the Cura slicing software, 3D-prints eight #3DBenchy boats in sequence. One at a time!
