The Effekt is a home theather furniture created to value the use of the accessories, and in this case, these elements are part of the appearance of the furniture. The metallic components, made in aluminum, combine with the forms of the MDF plates. The line is composed by a bookshelf and a center table.
I used CAD software to design a conventional shape, then pulled the STL file into Meshmixer. There, by using selective Remesh/Reduce operations and a surface pattern creation tool, I made this shape that resembles a Clathrus sp. mushroom. It still needs to be refined a bit and fitted with a part responsible for mounting onto the bolt stem before I'll send it to the DMLS printing vendor.
