Chapter 3: His partner having tired of the chase, the darker maned lion caught up and headed off the giraffe, which prepared to defend itself. Without making the story too long, either bravely or foolishly, the single lion attempted to take on his much larger foe with predictable results. He was kicked hard by the giraffe and could easily have been killed if the giraffe had more of a predator's instincts. The lion then moved off several yards, cutting the giraffe's escape route. Surprisingly, began to take the initiative. It would raise one long leg threateningly and take one step after another toward the lion. This went on for over half an hour as Vincent and I sat watching, rain coming and going, the outcome very much undetermined.

Die Glasarche 3 ankert auf dem Elbberg im Boizenburger Ortsteil Vier: Das Ensemble aus Glas und Holz besteht aus einem fünf Meter langen gläsernen Kahn, der in einer riesigen Hand aus Eichenholz ruht. Anlässlich des 30. Jubiläums der Gründung der meisten Nationalparks, Biosphärenreservate und Naturparks in Ostdeutschland ist Mecklenburg-Vorpommern Gastgeber für die Glasarche. Seit dem 3. Juli 2020 liegt sie für sieben Wochen im UNESCO-Biosphärenreservat Flusslandschaft Elbe M-V. Zuvor war die künstlerische Installation im Nationalpark Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft zu Gast und anschließend wird sie im Müritz Nationalpark „vor Anker“ gehen. Die Glasarche wird bis zum 16. August 2020 auf dem Elbberg in Boizenburg zu Gast sein. Die gläserne Arche entstand im Jahr 2016 im Rahmen des Naturschutzprojektes „GlasArche 3”, initiiert vom Landschaftspflegeverein „Mittleres Elstertal” e.V. (www.glasarche-3.de). Seither befindet sie sich auf Expedition zu den schönsten Natur- und Kulturgebieten Mitteldeutschlands mit Abstechern nach Polen und Österreich. Foto: Heiko Wruck

Yesterday was the big rival football game between the University of Utah and BYU. Red vs Blue! The U pulled it off but barely. I had fun celebrating and playing games with my family last night and these were still on the counter this morning. I couldn't resist shooting it with the morning light coming in.
