The sound of a drill filled the room. A quick, loud buzzing of a power drill digging its way through the thick metal of the bank vault. The man holding the drill was crouched down, a duffel bag slung over his back. Another man with a similar bag stood next to him, an AR-15 in his hands.

Up the stairs of the basement was the main lobby of the bank. Around seven or eight civilians were prone on the floor, arms tied behind their backs. There were bodies of dead security guards at the entrance. Four men stood with guns pointing at the various patrons on the ground.

"All of you shut the fuck up!" His voice seemed full of anger. "You fuckers keep quiet and you'll live." This silenced the rooms muffled screams behind gags. Various noises of sobs and sniffles could still be heard from the terrified hostages, but they complied with the burglars. One of them raised their hand to their earpiece. "Hey, how fucking long is that gonna take?"

"He's almost done with the fourth lock. He's got another three to go." The man moved his hand from his earpiece. "Fucking bullshit. I knew we should've brought some c4." As he mumbled to himself, the sound of glass shattering can be heard throughout the lobby. The shards fall like snow onto the men in the lobby, their eyes all averting up. The skylight was shattered.

"What the hell?" One of the men aimed his gun into the air, firing a few rounds off. "Cool it you fucking moron, you're wasting ammo!" The panicked one stopped firing and stared at the others. "Skylights don't just shatter like that! What if the police are already here?"

He took a slap to the face. "Do you hear sirens? It's probably just an animal or something. That glass is likely weak as hell." He started to calm down, "yeah, yeah you're probably-" he was cut off as his eyes were completely wide open. Fear filled his voice. "Where did Allen go?" The other two men turned, noticing their party member was completely gone. "Fucking pussy bailed on us. More of a cut for us I guess." He shrugged.

All of a sudden, a metal ball bounced off of the ground as it fell from the skylight. The three men looked at it. One of them turned to run for cover while the other two weren't so lucky.

The ball began pulsing a bright blue light, blinding the two still in the center of the room. The man who was behind cover peaked up, watching his allies stumble around the now fading light. Both were temporarily blinded, and would need a moment or two to recover. As he began to leave cover, he saw a figure draped in a blue coat drop the the ground. He wore some kind of blue mask, with a white and orange visor over it. In his right hand was a gun that looked like something from a sci-fi film.

He instantly stepped to one of the robbers, slamming his fist into the man's stomach. As he doubled over in pain, a knee caught his jaw. The strike sent him to the floor, unconscious. He raised the blaster in his right hand at the other blinded felon, a shot of electricity exiting the gun, tasing the man.

The vigilante stepped over to one of the hostages, having a blade extend from his gun. He slit the zip-tie around their wrist and undid the gag around their mouth. "It's ok. The police are on their way." The civilian looked up, "There are more of them. Two went to the vault, and a third is still up here."

The thug cursed under his breath as he raised his rifle. Before he could fire, he felt something bite him on the arm. He looked down to see a small, metallic blue bug with it's pincers pinching his skin. "Fuck, that hurts." As he reached down to remove it, it sent around fifty thousand volts of electricity coursing through his nervous system. The assault rifle he was holding dropped to the floor, as did the thug while shaking violently.

"Yeah, I knew he was there," the vigilante remarked, helping the first hostage to a sitting position. "Now you said two are in the vault?"

The two men who were in the vault began running up the stairs. They both had full duffel bags, tens of thousands of dollars within them. They made it to the top of the stairs, only to see a man in a blue costume and trench coat standing in the doorway to the lobby. "And where do you think you two are going?"

They looked at each other, then raised their guns to him. He shook his head in a disappointed matter. "All you had to do was surrender." He then quickly raised his gun, blasting out a jet of compressed air. The power of the shot sent one of them into the wall, leaving a bit of a crack in the brick. The other had a bit better footing, but still fell backwards, tumbling down the stairs. As he reached the bottom, his friend who was stuck to the wall finally fell, landing on top of him.

"Well, now that that's taken care of."

-~-~-

"Sir! Sir! Who are you!?" "Where did you learn to fight?" "Who developed that gun of yours?" "Are you an ally of the police?" "What drives you to be a hero?"

Ted's mind was spinning like a globe. He couldn't get a coherent thought to process in his head, listening to each and every question rattled off. He raised his arms up to silence the crowd.

"I heard a radio frequency being used by these goons, talking about robbing the place. I acted how I saw fit, stopping them. I am a self trained martial artist and build all of my gadgets." He paused for a moment, watching people write these things down. "I am wearing this mask because I am tired of sitting around. I'm tired of the world delving into a state of hurt and despair. I want it brought back to the times when I was a kid, where you could laugh and play games with no worries at all." The journalists took this all in, the news reporters getting his statement on camera.

"I… am the Blue Beetle."

Think of it as something from MW3 and BF3...

Come July 6th 2011, Jordan Voth and I will be venturing across all of the beautiful states that make up the U.S.

Here is our extremely loose plan as of last night :p

Jordan will be driving straight from WA to my house in Pittsburgh, PA. After a few shoots here, we’ll travel to a few surrounding states (OH, Eastern PA, VA, MD, NY, etc) then make our way toward South FL, stopping in NC, SC, and GA along the way. Once we feel that we have taken FL by storm, we’ll head west bound, hitting up TN, TX, OK, NE, CO, UT, AZ, CA, and OR to reach our final destination of WA. Again, this is a very loose outline of our whole journey and would love to incorporate other cities/states into it!

If any of you beautiful people would like to let us hang ten on your couches or floors we’d be forever grateful, so please let us know if we have a spot to rest our sleepy heads at night <3 If you would like to just hang out or even grab a bite to eat, also let us know! We’ll do our best to stop out to as many cities as possible…We love meeting people!

OH!!! We’ll also be scheduling shoots along the way, so if you’d like to get on the list, the sooner the better! You’ll get both of us for the price of one =p

I hope to hear from many of you inquiring about a hang out sesh/shoot/party/amazing time. Let’s make the summer of 2011 unforgettable!

149 were built in 1908-12, a much improved development of the CdF Midi’s 1301 Class for mixed traffic use. The first 25 were saturated and had slide valves but all those built later were fitted with piston valves, superheaters and, later, Lemaitre wide chimneys and exhausts. The early engines were rebuilt to match.

A very successful class with an excellent steam circuit for the day, they were very free-running and often used on express passenger trains. They were the last French 4-6-0's in service, almost seeing out French steam. Their minimalist cabs makes Churchward’s cabs of the GWR of the period look positively spacious.

Midge has been making homemade maple syrup. She collected about 10 gallons of clear, lightly sweet tasting sap from her maple trees. Then she boiled it down to make maple syrup. She cannot wait to put it on some pancakes!

My husband decided to try this for the first time. Now is the time of year (freezing nights, daytime thaws) to tap and collect maple syrup. We don't have sugar maples, which make the best syrup, but we have Norway Maples which will produce sap/syrup with a slightly different flavor. He tapped 2 trees and collected about 3 of these large buckets of sap. It took 2 days to boil it all down. He started it outside on our grill and then finished in the kitchen. 40:1 ratio of sap to syrup. Lots of labor. We enjoyed it on French toast a few nights ago.

In the US, this is big business in the Northeast, mostly Vermont. Farmers boil this stuff down in "sugar shacks" and some farms offer tours and tastings.

Alright, I’m finally through Phase 1 in my “Road to Infinity War” watchathon. At the time leading up to Iron Man 3’s release was quite the time for me as an MCU fan. First off, I remember Comic Con 2012 was like the first time I really followed the news that was coming out of it, and I remember reading the descriptions of the Iron Man 3 footage with the Mandarin and Tony Stark’s house getting destroyed. Then came the trailers and I was probably the most annoying kid in the school because that’s all I would talk about in and out of class. Then the Friday the film came out I went to the movie with a bunch of my friends, played some basketball, and went to a school dance, so it was a pretty good day for 8th grade me. Anyways, I always like to look back on my life and where I was during these films release. Anyways, I’ve had a love/hate relationship with Iron Man 3. When it came out I thought it was the coolest thing ever, then I watched it a few times and I really started to not like it. So I was pretty interesting to see if my opinion on this film has changed after revisiting it today since I haven’t seen it after watching Stark’s last couple appearances in the MCU.

Good: Now I’m a big Shane Black fan, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is awesome and The Nice Guys is amazing, so that being said I really enjoy Iron Man 3 as a Shane Black film. Black’s signature style of humor works perfectly with Iron Man, like Black was meant to direct a film with Tony Stark. Speaking of Stark, one of the most interesting aspects of this film is how it deals with Stark after the events of the Avengers. We’ve seen him deal with a more physical illness in Iron Man 2, but this time he dealing with anxiety and stuff that in his head, a problem that someone who’s so handy in fixing concrete problems is not used to at all. The best part of Iron Man 3 is that Tony has built all these suits, which is great for both setpieces and plot as his excuse for him dealing with anxiety and not sleeping, that aspect of the film felt so true to the character for me. Now I was so onboard sitting through the first hour of this film, I liked all the Mandarin stuff and Tony Stark doing some detective work, Shane Black is really good at detective stuff. The first act setup is so great because it seems like its setting up this high scale 80s detective movie with a man in an iron suit fighting terrorists. Imagine how cool this movie would’ve been if it ended with Stark and all his suits facing off against a real Mandarin and the Ten Rings back in Afghanistan where it all started back in Iron Man one, I think it would’ve been a good final act, but that’s not to say that not everything is bad in the final third of the film. Last time I watched this film, I was not a fan of how most of this movie Stark is not in the suit, but now after seeing him in action in Age of Ultron and in Civil War, I’m okay with this film being a bit different for the character! Finally, I’d like to talk about him blowing up all of his suits in the end. I remember being very pissed off and confused by that fact, but now I understand it. The act wasn’t him saying he was being Iron Man forever, it was just him getting rid of the obsession of Iron Man, because like he said at the end of the film, he’s still Iron Man no matter what.

Bad: Now the most serious problem I have with this movie is the villain. This movie very mishandles The Mandarin and AIM. You have the most iconic Iron Man villain and an organisation that is only second to HYDRA in the comics in this film and they are both completely wasted. Marvel claims that they didn’t want to offend asian audiences with the Mandarin character, but now after seeing Marvel handle characters who are huge stereotypes in the comics in their films like Batroc the Leaper, and M’Baku the MAN APE, I think Marvel could’ve found a better route to making the Mandarin a formidable villain without making Ben Kingsley into an actor and having the real Mandarin be this weird white dude in Guy Pearce.

Overall, I have started to regain a little more respect for Iron Man 3, in fact I have to say I enjoyed this film a lot more than the last time I watched it. Last time I watched it, I had no concept of Stark in Civil War or in Spider-Man: Homecoming, so I thought to myself “THIS is how we’re going to end Stark’s story?!” where in reality, it’s not over yet! That being said, I would really like to see a proper ending to the Iron Man franchise and a good send off to Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark that’s not in an Avengers film, he deserves his own film for a satisfying conclusion to the character, like Logan! Anyways, Iron Man 3 works as a fine middle film for Tony Stark between the first Avengers and Age of Ultron, but I definitely won’t remember it as one of the greats of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So for these reasons, I’m going to give Iron Man 3 a 7.5/10. Let me know what your thoughts are on this film down in the comments below, and hey, this is my last non-re-review (gotta reword that) for an MCU film, so make sure to stay tuned next week for my re-review of everyone’s favorite MCU film, Thor: The Dark World!!... wait a minute...

Introducing my newest addition...Of all the dolls I have ever wanted over the years, she seems to be the one that has been the hardest to acquire. I fell in love with the coloring of these fabulous #3 Ponytails very early in my collecting... Something about the softness of the brown eyeliner and the way most have paled to such a beautiful ivory complexion. I have a Blonde #3 with the Brown liner and a factory braid, and she is absolutely gorgeous. She was a very lucky find a few years into my collecting...all original and with her box and liner. Well because she was such a stunning example, my Brunette #3 had to be just as beautiful...this is why it has taken so long. Now, I have come across MANY over the years and I have been outbid or the price was just way too high. So, I have been waiting and searching for the perfect one, and here she is! All original, box, stand. Missing the liner, but I can live with that... her face and hair are beautiful and I could not be happier... well worth the wait!

Ah, iPhone, I love thee so. Thou hast been there for me for more than a year now and we have a year or so left together before I replace thee with a newer prettier model. True love <3
