This is the secondary assistant lightkeeper's house next to the Heceta Head lighthouse on the Oregon coast. Originally there were two homes here, this one ,which is actually a duplex for two families and a second exact duplicate except larger living quarters for the head lightkeeper and his family. Both were built originally in the 1890s however the main home was taken down in the 1940s. Interestingly there were no roads when the houses and lighthouse were built so all the supplies had to be shipped by barge from nearby Florence and thrown off to float onto the beach and then packed up the hill to build the houses. In the distance is Cape Creek Bridge.
Oh, and some say this house is haunted. I once stayed over night here during a writer's workshop on a stormy night and didn't hear or see a thing.
