It makes me laugh that my last individual family photo I took had half the dolls that I have now. :D It goes to show how much a family can grow in such a small period of time! Aaaand it also proves how hard it is to take family photo's. xD I know people with much bigger families and their picture's are much better!

The little girl in the middle is going to be rewigged -- hopefully tomorrow I will order her wig. <3 I can't wait. And Kumiko looks blonde here. xD hahaha irl, her hair is flourescent. I don't even have a blonde doll. xD Alsooo, Esther looks absolutely evil here! o_O

Btw, please post you're favourite too! ^_^

It's been a while since I've last posted anything, and that is because I've been busy with this beast for the past few months. I've never built a space ship of this size before. This is officially my largest LEGO project to date.

It is well over 100 studs, full of play-ability, and (as I will show in future posts) every room is accessible by lifting off the top. Each room is fully decorated too.

This project started about a year ago, when I missed out on last SHIPtember. I vowed to myself that I would build a ship over the course of the year and have it ready to post prior to the end of this September. I was not concerned with entering the contest. I know that building it over the course of a year technically violates the "rules". However, this was more of a challenge that I set for myself.

Now, for a little about this ship:

This is the Odyssey 5. A flagship of the Galactic Federation. Under the command of Captain Thaddeus Astro, the Odyssey 5 pushes beyond the boundaries of known space as Captain Astro and his crew explore regions never seen by minifigures before. The Odyssey 5 is fully equipped for long missions through space. It has a small hangar in the aft section where the explorers can store their vacuum suits. The hangar also houses the X-1 zero gravity chair. Their is a small hangar suspended beneath the aft section where they store their rover for vehicular exploration of a planet's surface.

Each "wing" houses a landing pad. There the explorers can dock the "hopper" and the "skimmer", both speedy surface vehicles. Underneath the landing pads are mounted landing repulsors to aid in the landing and take-off of the Odyssey 5. There is a fully stocked science lab, a berth with bunks, and a common area for preparing meals and relaxing during long journeys.

The cockpit makes up the forward 1/3 of the Odyssey 5. There is a seat for a pilot and co-pilot. As well as Captain Astro's command chair. A bank of computers and communications systems line the walls. For defense, there is a dorsal mounted twin-barrel laser cannon turret. As well as a port and starboard mounted torpedo launchers.

As always, thank you for looking! Comments and criticism are welcomed.

'MANLY'

I have never seen, nor appreciated, the colours of Manly Cove, especially to the east of Manly Wharf where the depth is quite shallow, and the sea grasses are aplenty... I suppose these become apparent from the air - DJI AIR3

MV 'Freshwater' was the star of the morning on both approach, docked and then departing Manly Wharf. Freshwater is the lead ship of the four Freshwater-class ferries. It is named after Freshwater Beach on Sydney's Northern Beaches. It was launched on 27 March 1982 by Olive Cox and commissioned by her husband, Minister for Transport Peter Cox, on 18 December 1982.

The three-month old ferry ran aground at Manly Cove in March 1983 after overshooting the wharf following a computer failure. On 30 March 1985, Freshwater was hijacked by a man who threatened to shoot passengers unless the captain piloted the ferry beyond Sydney Heads into the ocean. The hijacker was subdued after a police officer boarded the vessel and fired three warning shots. It turned out that the man, a New Zealander, had not been carrying a gun, but an empty vodka bottle (the second of two that he had consumed before boarding the vessel) had been concealed under his jacket. After a short jail sentence, the man returned to New Zealand in January 1986 by stowing away on the Oriana, for which he was also fined.

While there were plans to retire the ship by 2021, a decision was eventually made to keep Freshwater and Collaroy operating, with Queenscliff and Narrabeen to be retired.

However, following the 2023 New South Wales state election, the current plan is to maintain Freshwater, Collaroy and Narrabeen in full-time service. Freshwater is expected to be in service until at least 2030.

I have 3 blue 401 bowls...the top one is from my Turquoise set, the middle one is from a set of Primary Colours, but I don't know what set the bottom bowl is from...any ideas? It isn't the correct blue to be from Snowflake Blue or Colonial Mist. (Although they would have a pattern on them, anyway...)

EDIT: After some advice from susannatron and xeryp, I am convinced that the bottom bowl is from the Multicolour Bowls set from the late 1960s / early 1970s. Thanks for the help, guys!

That's the number of photos it says have now accumulated and are recorded as my photographic history on Flickr. Which actually amounts to my entire photographic history, since I honestly can't remember taking a picture before a sister bought me an inexpensive Nikon Coolpix for my birthday 4 1/2 years ago. An odd present I thought at the time, but actually thoughtfully based on a combination of my location and my retirement...and one in retrospect remarkably prescient. Though that particular device was broken when dropped by some clumsy individual when his sleeve caught on a door handle, stopping his hand but not the camera which continued merrily on its way, it was quickly replaced with the same basic model, still in use today. And once I finally took it out of the box after a few months, inspired at the time by the remarkable local fall foliage, there have been few days since that have passed without a few shots being snapped.

It seems somehow appropriate that this milestone should occur on Memorial Day though for entirely inappropriate reasons. And this particular image doesn't represent the genre I've come to learn that you, my dear audience, prefer. And there are actually more than 3,000 images in my stream because I don't think that number includes the comment photos which I've often utilized, usually with a purpose in mind. And also ironic that Flickr should go through such a "memorable" change at this time...a change which I'm learning slowly to appreciate more than I expected, being the cranky, stubborn, old person that I am. And it's interesting, at least to me, to note the changes this hobby has brought to my concepts and acceptances of all that photography is today.

I still have not finished reading the manual and expect that I never will, and my forays into "processing" are always without plan or pattern and couldn't be repeated if my life depended on it. It's the surprise that has become much of the fun and encourages additional fiddling. But far and away the most important element of all this is you who continue to take the time to look at it. I mentioned in my profile composed early on that it was you who had surprised me with your generous friendship and support. Remarkably, those relationships have only strengthened and developed over the years...many to the point of becoming very close friendships though in absentia. That, my good friends, is the value of all this to me, and I can honestly say that I don't take a photo without you all in mind. Thus, you are as responsible for the 3,000 as I am...and will be so for the next 3,000 as well...an unexpected journey for which I sincerely thank you.

We all have friends we can count on when we are having a tough day, need to vent, are ready to scream at the world or dance in the newly fallen snow barefoot. Those sisters and brothers that we are connected to who support us not matter when, no questions asked. We may not have many of them but the friendships and community we create with them run deep and strong like roots of a red cedar. Celebrate, be grateful, and if they are far away in distant places talk to them in your daydreams.

The Olympus OM-3 is considered to be the second rarest model in the Olympus OM line up. This camera was only in production for 3 years. It is a full manual camera like the OM-1, with an incredible metering system. Other differences from the OM-1 included an internally lit viewfinder, 1/2000 max shutter speed, an updated accurate shutter curtain timing system, built in hot shoe and the rewind button is on top of the camera rather than the face of the camera. This camera can be used with all shutter speeds with out the need for batteries.

Possibly the reason for low sales was because the tried and true OM-1 was also still in production and there was a consider price difference between the two.

Vista des del campanar de San Giorgio Maggiore. El de dalt és un vaporetto ràpid, per anar més per la llacuna (a Burano, Lido, etc). El del mig no el conec, però el de sota és el típic vaporetto més lent, usual al Gran Canal.

Picture taken from the bell tower of San Giorgio Maggiore.

The upper one is the fast vaporetto, more usual for routes arround and away from Venice. The lower one is the slower model, usual in the Canal Grande. The one in the middle is unknown to me.

This one looks way better compared to my first try :P

Sorry for the blurry photo :/

C+C is appreciated

Thanks to Magus for the advice on how to improve on it :D

Just watched it at PIXAR Animation Studios today.

It was fresh from the Renderman can, as they finished the 3D cut last week, after four years of effort.

It was quite entertaining – better than Toy Story 2 or Cars, IMHO. Lasseter asked us not to disclose any plot elements, of course, so let me just say that Ken & Barbie steal the show with wonderfully funny renditions of their likely dialogs.

So I wanted to to try a "paper boat" shot, since I live on a lake, I had a great idea. However... 2 hours, 19 peices of paper and 3 youtube videos later, i gave up on the idea. Turns out I can't make a paper oragami boat to save my life lol. But this is a paper crane I made in one of my art classes, so I decided it would do.

Ahh I'm so cramped for time. Between reading 6 books before the end of the summer for AP, doing some senior shoots, and trying to have fun, my summer is going by so fast. I feel like I haven't even done anything yet :\

But on the brighter side... Warped Tour is in a week from today! :D

Hm, I feel like taking some shots with my Canon AE-1 (film)...

"I am wasted losing time, on a foolish, fragile spine." - Daughter

I saw Daughter live in September, and they puts you in such a trance. I was listening to them yesterday and this line is a beginning of a song and it kind of hit me strong. I'm not sure how much I can explain of it but on a more general note. I think we all feel fragile, lost in a part of our mind that is chaotic and you can't find enough strength to pull yourself together and leave it be. I think I wanted to find that in a close portrait somehow.

I'm so happy I got to shoot with Reem Eissa Photography today. I felt so inspired.

Also guys, I entered a contest to win an Ipad, there's a person catching up to the number of likes I have, I would really appreciate it if you liked the photo in here pretty please <3:

The E-3 Sentry is the primary Airborne Warning and Control platform for the US Air Force (as well as NATO and several other countries). It is a modified Boeing 707, carrying an AN/APY-1(or -2, depending on the aircraft) radar. The Air Battle Management crew aboard the E-3 coordinates the air war in their area of responsibility.

2002 Bristol Blenheim 3 5.9 V8

So glad I drove back through Wilmslow this afternoon certainly beats the usual Bentley and Aston fayre.

Bristol is one of Britain's most venerated carmakers. For over thirty-five years, Brits "in the know" have considered the obscure automaker's products to be the embodiment of English hand built quality and understated exclusivity. Unfortunately, motoring journalists need not apply. In fact, Bristol actively discourages any sort of publicity for its current cars. A test drive is "out of the question"

This makes me think of Lowry, even though it's Liverpool, not Manchester. It was a murky day and the barges were spraying tons of water so lost a lot of contrast, but I quite like that.
