A couple of uploads at this spot, separated by 39 years or so.
I bought THIS for flickr =-D (OoOoo Explore #172!)
MY FIRST uploads from my Diana+ Edelwiess. My third roll was the charm because only about 5 shots came out sort of decent on my first two rolls.
Stood between the two ice villains was Simon Baz. His legs weren't moving, his body wasn't moving. The ice formed on his legs up to his upper stomach, immobilizing him completely.
"That's one down Junior, just need the other two." The older man with the gun cackled. Simon inferred that the blue metahuman was his son based on the name. "Why is this ice so strong?"
"Haha. It's because it isn't 'ice', it's a sample of Junior's blood refurbished into a powersource." He started maniacally laughing once again, while his son stood in silence.
"Hey jackass!"
The two ice villains turned their heads, Simon as well, to see Guy and Jessica both ready to fight. The one one with a gun aimed and fired a grenade-like projectile near them. When it exploded, the area began to chill, like it was some kind of stationary freezer. There was a small circle radius that showed a blue mist, likely the cold area. Guy quickly realized it and flew forwards at the pair.
He was nearly hit by an uppercut by the blue man, but a green shield made by Jessica blocked the hit. He continued past the blue man and grabbed the one with a gun. "Let me go! Junior, you failure, stop him!"
The boy raised his arms but was interrupted by Guy, "No! He isn't a failure. You are."
The boy stopped, his arms staying in the air idle. His head tilted "huh?" "Junior fucking kill him now!" Guy tightened his grip on the man. "Your job as his father was to help him! Teach him how to be a good man! But you're nothing but a bully who is using him!"
Jess finally freed Simon from his confinements, walking over the scene unfolding. "JUNIOR NOW. THAT IS AN ORDER!" The boy flinched, but didn't raise his hands. Guy looked at him smiling. "You don't need to be what he wants you to be. You don't need to *be* him."
He was confused. What is he doing? Why was he standing up for him. His dad, he wasn't using him was he? No. He knows he is, but he's worthless. If his dad didn't use him no one else ever would. Right?
"I'm… I'm just a tool for him. I can't do anything else. I'm useful to him, I owe it to him to stay by him." The boy was shaky, Guy knew he didn't mean the words he said. It was a mixture of fear and confusion.
"If that's so, then kill me now." Guy threw the older man over to Simon and Jessica. "If you are nothing but a tool. Someone who is only useful when following orders you know are wrong, then follow his orders. Send an icicle through my eye." He slid his ring off his finger, dropping it to the floor.
"Guy!" Shouted Simon, but Jess placed her bad on his shoulder.
"Go ahead. No defense. If you act, I die." Junior stood still. His arm was raised, bit it was shaking, violently. "Kill him you moron! It's a free shot!" He looked at Guy, then his father, then back at Guy.
"You don't need to be what he wants you to be." With one last smile and nod from Guy, it was over. His arm dropped to the side, his skin losing its ice blue color, turning back to normal. Before his father could speak, Simon gave him a judo chop to his neck, knocking him out cold.
"Where do I go from here?" The boy asked. He looked young. Maybe 15 or 16. Guy gave him a reassuring smile, "up. I'm going to help you through it all, until it's better."
The police soon arrived, cuffing Icicle and escorting Junior into the truck to take them to the station. Junior already said he would serve whatever time they gave him, and promised to be better when he got out. Guy made a promise back, telling him he'd try and visit once a week, to see how he was doing. To be there for him. Because that's all he ever could have wished for. Well, he looked behind him to Jess and Simon, what he used to wish for. He had it now too.

"Ahhh, feels good to kick back and relax." Stretching out his legs on the couch construct emitting from his ring, he sighed getting comfortable. "I don't understand why you made a couch. Your apartment is a few blocks away." Stated Simon, leaning over the back of it. Jess sat on the other cushion, "the breeze is much nicer than his apartment's crappy airflow."
Simon laughed a bit as he watched Guy place his hand on his chest, mocking taking offense. "How could you Jess? I thought you were my friend." She began to laugh, Guy leaning his head back against the armrest.
Jess placed her hand on his knee, giving it a squeeze. He opened his eyes to see her smiling at him. He nodded, giving the same, warm smile back. An unspoken thank you from him. A thank you for saving me from myself. For showing me, that I can't be hurt by him. Never, ever, again.
Happy (belated) Halloween everyone!
