The P-38 Lightning "Glacier Girl" in an inverted pass.

This particular aircraft, a P-38F-1 model, was recovered from the ice of Greenland 50 years after it made a forced landing there. Hence the name...

070911 - this is a part of my daily life. this was taken around 5pm, at this time my dog begins to ask me to go outside, but has been so hot lately, that i try to convince him to be on the balcony for a while, until 6pm... or even later. i know i had taken a shot of this part of the house, but this is from a different angle and i like how the sunlight reflects on the white curtains... i know i am tired of summer, but maybe i will miss this during winter.

Here we are 38 weeks and 4 days...I have started on rasberry leaf, thinking about duckwalking but I am at least doing more normal walking than I have in weeks. Feels more comfy now that baby isn't lying on top of my hip bones. What do we do now....DIY of course! We just finished repainting bathroom, Graham is making storage closet doors, and next is to start clearing things out and I have to finish my quilt.

We took this picture just before 6:00 AM on Sunday - it was EARLY!

Edited NASA image of an X-38 flying over the clouds. See caption for lots of good information.

Original caption: The X-38, a research vehicle built to help develop technology for an emergency Crew Return Vehicle (CRV), descends under its steerable parachute during a July 1999 test flight at the Dryden Flight Research Center, Edwards, California. It was the fourth free flight of the test vehicles in the X-38 program, and the second free flight test of Vehicle 132 or Ship 2. The goal of this flight was to release the vehicle from a higher altitude (31,500 feet) and to fly the vehicle longer (31 seconds) than any previous X-38 vehicle had yet flown. The project team also conducted aerodynamic verification maneuvers and checked improvements made to the drogue parachute. The X-38 Crew Return Vehicle (CRV) research project is designed to develop the technology for a prototype emergency crew return vehicle, or lifeboat, for the International Space Station. The project is also intended to develop a crew return vehicle design that could be modified for other uses, such as a joint U.S. and international human spacecraft that could be launched on the French Ariane-5 Booster. The X-38 project is using available technology and off-the- shelf equipment to significantly decrease development costs.

Today I went to Gysinge to do picture presentation from a project we did in a photo club I am in. It was so lucky that the meeting was in a beautiful place called Gysinge, north of uppsala.

SCALPED #38

On sale MAY 26 • 32 pg, FC, $2.99 US • MATURE READERS

Written by JASON AARON • Art by RM GUERA • Cover by JOCK

Don’t miss this special Vietnam War flashback issue featuring a surprise main character – one whose legacy looms large in the world of SCALPED, but whose story has never been told...until now.

Oh noes!

Guess what, it seems to be my last vacation day!! Darn it to heck! Tomorrow I get to dump myself in the bosses problems and fix ‘m once again =) Oh well, luckily we’ve got all the summer holidays behind us, which means that the entire team is together once more ^^ hurray! So, that’ll make life much easier and way more fun.

And well, what better way to spend the last day before work, doing cartwheels in a field hmm?? As I couldn’t go to squash today, I had to find some other activities, which consisted of reading, running through a field and doing cartwheels.. hey, gotta do something right ;-)

And also, I just returned from London on Monday evening! Oooh, that was so awesome =) seen all the sights, drank all the beers & ate (only) unhealthy food! But one thing stood out for me: the biking! (what else ;-)) apperantly there aren’t that much biking folks in London or they would have complained about the state of the roads! Its like one bit of asphalt on top of another and then someone though “hey, let’s add another layer somewhere, cos we missed a spot…” it is a very bumpy ride I tell ya! And as for the other road users, well, nothing out of the ordinary, just had a weekend of mucho fun in the UK capitol ^^ theehee, “awesomeness on pedal-powered vehicles!”

But yeah, this week will most likely pass quickly: yesterday I was in London, today I’ve arranged the entire house, tomorrow my first work day in three weeks & Thursday I’ve got to be in our factory in Belgium for a ‘creative afternoon’, and Friday.. well, Fridays always fly (and I get to be massaged ^^)

That’s it for now, I’m out!

*Cheerio* folks!

PS. I want this summer to keep on going for just a little more ^^

PPS. for your (and mine) pleasure: ODESZA - Say My Name (feat. Zyra) - Lyric Video

such a mellow feely summery song ^^

Taken for Flickr Roulette: LP Portraits

This is Joni Mitchell's Blue album. For those of you who are unfamiliar, it's iconic. It's soulful and beautiful. Joni wrote a song on this album called Little Green that is about giving her daughter up for adoption. My mom, who was a single mother in 1974, struggled with the decision to keep me and considered giving me up as well, so this song struck a chord with her. My flickr username is what my mother calls me, Emmie Green. It's from two songs: "Emmie" by Laura Nyro and "Little Green" from this album.

Born with the moon in cancer

Choose her a name she will answer to

Call her green and the winters cannot fade her

Call her green for the children who've made her

Little green, be a gypsy dancer

He went to California

Hearing that everything's warmer there

So you write him a letter and say, her eyes are blue.

He sends you a poem and shes lost to you

Little green, hes a non-conformer

Just a little green

Like the color when the spring is born

There'll be crocuses to bring to school tomorrow

Just a little green

Like the nights when the northern lights perform

There'll be icicles and birthday clothes

And sometimes there'll be sorrow

Child with a child pretending

Weary of lies you are sending home

So you sign all the papers in the family name

You're sad and you're sorry, but you're not ashamed

Little green, have a happy ending

Just a little green

Like the color when the spring is born

There'll be crocuses to bring to school tomorrow

Just a little green

Like the nights when the northern lights perform

There'll be icicles and birthday clothes

And sometimes there'll be sorrow

Today was boring. Haha.

I dont know what I think about this picture. I didnt like the color of the background, but the color in the glitter was too intense to ignore. :P
