Released from lockdown, we are out walking, and spotted this gorse shrub, ulex gallii, native to Scotland, but also to large parts of western Europe. It is a prickly shrub with lots of these bright yellow little flowers.
Sun shining on the Protestants
From Adriaen Pietersz. van de Venne, 1614
At the left are the Protestant north Netherlanders, and at the right the Catholic southerners. Both parties fish for souls in the wide river dividing them. The Protestants’ catch is greater than that of the Catholics. Moreover, at the left the sun is shining and the trees are in leaf. This is a reference to a psalm: the righteous will flourish like a tree bearing fruit, whose leaves never wither.

The backyard of my neighbors two doors down is entirely one big flower/wildflower garden. Not a single patch of grass to mow. Quite unique, and looks beautiful in the spring and summer.
Qui n'a pas frémi tout jeune au fait de franchir l'une de ces portes et de devoir confesser des choses,ma foi, pas très graves! Pouvez-vous deviner dans quelle église se trouve ce magnifique confessional?

Day 38: Picked up my new shades today - you must realize, I'm blind as a bat, so these have a heavy, heavy prescription. However, they weigh approximately 117 pounds less than my last pair (the Ray Bans), and thus will actually stay on my face and not break the bridge of my nose. Good times!
PS: could my lips look any more smarmy?

This is me, with my beloved D90, again :) After a nice evening's work, sorting out photos and winding down after a long day in studio. I had my group studio in the university at 10 this morning, so I had to rush there and in the end mine was the last work looked at, so I ended up leaving at 3! It was good though, I got plenty done and some good feedback at the end. In the evening Kirsty and I chatted and I sorted out my photos from the day before (of which there were LOADS) before going to bed early.
