South African Railways General Electric Company U15C Class 35.4 diesel-electric Co+Co diesel-electric locomotive number 35-463 departs from Tweespruit railway station on the Down & Up Main line with the Sundays excepted 07:30 Bloemfontein to Marseilles (train number 55561) which would then continue forward as the Sundays excepted 10:41 Marseilles to Maseru (train number 55563). 10:23, Wednesday 6th June 1984
Note, 35-463 was built by South African General Electric-Dorman Long Locomotive Group (works number 41312) under licence from the General Electric Company for the South African Railways and Harbours Administration as South African Railways number 35-463. The South African Transport Services operations were transferred to Transnet Limited on 1st April 1990
The weighted point lever is locked in position for trains on the running line, this is indicated by the white half of the point weight being uppermost
