It was the late 70s, punk rock was snarling it's way through the streets, protesting a declining economy and a society that just didn't seem to care. My parents lived in Chelsea, at the heart of the scene, running a pub for one of the big breweries, and from my bedroom a young lowrevolution could see the punks and the teddy-boys fight it out for supremacy of Sloane Square every Saturday. It was far better than watching anything on the three TV channels. A thin blue line of disinterested, mutton-chopped coppers stood by and watched the freaks play, only intervening if it looked like the trouble would get out of hand and somehow affect the more well-heeled residents of the area.
Inside the pub, a mixed crew of customers uneasily rubbed shoulders: upstairs in the big bar, working men and off-duty squaddies mingled with plain-clothed CID; serious drinkers with only one purpose, to drink and drink and drink and forget whatever it was in their lives that kept bringing them back to the bar. The small bar was the “actors” bar, the walls lined with two feet high elaborately dressed dolls, each illustrating a famous theatrical figure. Here there was a better class of drunk. Finally, there was the wine bar downstairs, my mother's own little fiefdom. The customers here were proto-yuppies, “Sloanies”, a mix of nascent Thatcherites and the young titled rich. Wine bars were not common in the late 70s, the drink then still being seen somehow as rather...poncy, so it really had not much competition in the area. It got jam packed each and every night; dark alcoves and lighting barely above candle level made it a dark and heaving hole where pretty much anything was possible.
It was hard to believe that two such different strata of UK society could coexist on two floors, separated by just a foot or so of concrete and wooden flooring. But upstairs was upstairs and downstairs was downstairs and never twain would meet.
One of the most popular drinks in the wine bar was a cocktail known as a Black Velvet. We sold it by the bucket full, at prices that would surprise me even after thirty years of inflation. It came back to me the other day as I was talking to friends about my days in London and yesterday I found it mentioned in my 1941 book of mixed drinks: “Here's How”. Obviously, you don't really need to use a quart of each, equal measures will be just fine and of course it would work equally well with any dry sparkling-wine. Try it, it's delicious.

Today I didn't do much. Just relaxed, went to lunch with my roommate and watched the Sandlot! One time when I was going to class with my friend we parked and we went under this tunnel to get to campus! I instantly knew this was where one of my 365's was gonna be. I had the image in my head! So today I did it! Thanks Lauren for helping me tonight with it! Well... i'm off to go hot tub! Have a great Friday!

I love Lego’s V-35 land speeder design from the Mos Eisley cantina set, Number 75290, but my one criticism is that only one minifigure could fit in the cab and they had to lay down. So I modified the design on my set by dropping out the bottom and creating space for two minifigures to sit upright in the cab. This modification actually makes it more accurate to the in-universe Star Wars lore.
A "superimposed composition"!
This theme inspired me to take elements of 2 very different photos - one of my niece and a separate photo of a wet window (that I had in my collection).
I love how the big splotch sits just under her eye.

Finalmente começarei a postar algumas fotos com minha Olmypus Trip 35, porém acho que o fotômetro deve estar com problema, já que todas as fotos saíram escuras, mesmo em condições boas de iluminação. Se alguém tiver alguma sugestão e me ajudar para saber o que está acontecendo com minha Trip, fico muito agradecida. Usei filme Kodak Ultra Color 200 ASA.

Sunday evening was my only chance to go out to play this week

This I did, but being an absolute amateur numpty I managed to go out with a flat camera battery (doh!) so my new time constraint became the 15% of battery left on my Iphone
4. Ask yourself why everything else that you encounter is so much more engaging than what you are hunting for
I didn't encounter anything I found remotely sinister but was distracted by the textures of this metal bridge...so decided to try (with the dying embers of phone-life) to create something sinister-ish, using the distraction. Not madly happy with the result, but thought I should stick to the rules, otherwise what's the point? :)
5. Ask yourself whether the time constraint is a useful tool
Not for novices...when you're just starting out I think you need time to explore and experiment. (By the way, lesson learned re. batteries, before anyone chastises me too severely!)
