Habitat: grass overgrown sandy semiruderal road side and slightly inside wood edge next to the road, calcareous terrain, full sun as well as in half shade, elevation 160 m (520 feet), average precipitations 1.000 - 1.200 mm/year, average temperature 13 - 15 deg C, submediterranean phytogeographical region.
Substratum: sandy soil.
Place: Left (going direction town Krk) roadside of the asphalt road connecting town Krk and village Vrh, just below the village Vrh, island Krk, Kvarner bay, Adriatic Sea, Croatia EC.
Comment: Growing in a large group of more than ten magnificent plants, some up to 80 cm tall, all along the road and in the neighboring wood edge.
Protected according to 'Uredba o zavarovanih prostoživečih rastlinskih vrstah'
Url. RS, št. 46/2004 (Regulation of protection of wild growing plants, Official Gazette of Republic Slovenia, No.:46/2004). Enlisted in the Slovene Red List of rare and endangered species, marked by "V" representing a vulnerable species.

I spent the majority of my day today taking pictures of cupcakes. I know. Poor, poor me.
This is one of my favorites of the bunch. It looks so tasty!
Straight out of the camera too. Unfortunately I shot all of these in jpg (I have no idea how my settings were rest), but luckily for me I was paying careful attention to lighting, etc.
Strobist: Canon 580EXII shoot through umbrella to the right and slightly behind the cupcake (it's the only place it would fit). Background is actually one of Leigha's paintings that we repurposed and I used a white sheet of paper to bounce back some light from camera left.
Shot with a 12mm (I think) extension tube on a 50mm f/1.8.
