Here's another archive shot from 1986. Unit 303 049 sits in a quiet Dinting station with a Hadfield service. A couple of young lads are seen straining their necks to take a look out of the windows. Whilst an old trolley and a a few used tyers are seemingly being used as the basis for a flower display.

303 051 was being moved from Glasgow Works to Hyndland Depot overnight on the 30/1/87 by 37011, this involved a run-round manoeuvre at Knightswood Junction near Westerton with the loco having to go all the way to Dalmuir to crossover to complete the run-round manoeuvere, unfortunately the handbrake was not applied to the 303 and once the brakes leaked off it started to roll away on the falling gradient towards Dalmuir, the Westerton signalman sent "runaway train" to Dalmuir just as 37011 had arrived, the Dalmuir signaller told the driver of 37011 who without further a do set of back towards the runaway to try and stop it, unfortunateley they met on a blind bend at Singer station and both were written off.
303 051 was unique with one other that during refurbishment it retained sliding windows and didnt receive 'hopper' type like the rest of the refurbished 303s.

Minolta SRT 303 SLR, less common black paint version and is also the late version without the mirror lock-up. Includes the MC Rokkor PG 58mm f1.2 lens which was the top of the range standard lens when you could buy them new. SRT 303 was also sold as the SRT 102 and SRT Super.
