I just want to tell you a quick thing that happened today: I was at my school's orientation, helping out before it began, and my AP Biology teacher from last year (my absolute favorite) came by, and after some chatting, he pulled a massive book from behind his back. It was the newest edition of the AP Biology textbook, and it was for me!
Thinking it over, it's the best gift I have ever received. I can never forget the hours I spent poring over that book, the crumbs I scattered through some pages from my studying snacks, the tears I left behind, fearing that I'd never do well. I kept fearing that all my work would fade, and that I'd forget everything. Now that won't happen.
I know it's just a giant silly book, but it means the world to me. That book contains my entire sophomore year, all the times i was stressed and tired and overwhelmed and my teacher would laugh at me and tell me to just relax. It brings back memories of the inside jokes our small class had, the way we nicknamed each other and bounced into the room every day, moaning to each other about the homework, but not really minding.
I think that book may have changed my life.
