Waiting for the rear to catch up.

I have had at least two different yellow rumped warblers visiting my suet feeders all winter. This one looks like he just took a bath. This was shot through my patio door.

After lunch I had a casual walk at Botanic Garden and could not believe my eyes when I saw the Stock Bill made a dive for his lunch. He must have dived at lest 3 times when I was there. Lucky for me I came away with some decent shots. I checked out how good the dual stabiliser worked. Started shooting at 1/160 sec and managed to get down to 1/40 and still have great fine feather details. Handheld at 840mm(35mm). Man this is impressive results from Oly.

Been researching into Nikon Ienses and bought the Nikon 200 - 500 f5.6 lens for my Dec Birding trip in Baoshan. I took it out this morning for a test drive. Shot this birdie at about 40 feet away. Surprised at the result that I got. Can't ask for better IQ for that price. Great value for money lens. The D500 continues to amaze me with such action shots and love the colors as well.

I hope that the EM1 M2 with the 300f4/1.4TC can out do the Nikon system.

Thank you my friends and appreciate your visits & favourites & comments.

The New Mosque (Yeni Cami), originally named the Valide Sultan Mosque, (Valide Sultan Camii) and later New Valide Sultan Mosque (Yeni Valide Sultan Camii) after its partial reconstruction and completion between 1660 and 1665, is an Ottoman imperial mosque located in the Eminânü quarter of Istanbul, Turkey. It is situated on the Golden Horn, at the southern end of the Galata Bridge, and is a notable Istanbul landmark marking the crossing from the old historic core of the city to the Beyoğlu (Pera) district. The mosque is an example of the Sultanate of Women period in Ottoman Empire.

The construction of the mosque began in 1597. It was ordered by Safiye Sultan, who was the wife of Sultan Murad III and later Valide Sultan (Queen Mother) of Sultan Mehmed III. She ordered the mosque in her capacity as Valide Sultan, two years after Mehmed III's ascension to the Ottoman throne in 1595, hence the original formal name "Valide Sultan Mosque".

The original architect was Davut Ağa, an apprentice to the great Mimar Sinan. However, Davut Ağa died in 1599 and was replaced by DalgΔ±Γ§ Ahmed Γ‡avuş. The construction took more than half a century and was completed by another Valide Sultan, Turhan Sultan, mother of Sultan Mehmed IV.
