WP GP35 3004 was involved in a side swipe accident somewhere on the WP, and hos found it's way to the WP's Sacramento Jeffrey Shops for evaluation and repair. Once repaired, the unit will emerge with a new EMD cab without the iconic WP "Golden Glow" reflector headlight, and will sport a standard twin sealed beam headlight and will be repainted into WP's new corporate color of Pearlman Green.

A C430 and 2 SD45's power an Eastbound Sealand train at Cascade Valley Road in Windsor, NY on August 17, 1986. The train has already crossed Starrucca Viaduct and is close to the top of the grade at Gulf Summit. The NYSW Alco's eluded me for the most part when the Susie Q started running the Sealand trains. The usual story was that I had just missed them. So it was a real score to get the 3004 leading a train after the SD-45's had arrived on the property.

CR 3004 leads a Westbound stack train past a barn and a blade on the West side of Addison, NY on a hazy August 23, 1986.
In truth I didn't find many fungi this season. I think the rain didn't come at the right time but here a few bonnets hung out in an old hornbeam to provide a cascade of fruits :)

Sinds 2006 zijn er al werken rond het Brusselse in verband met het Gewestelijk express net, ofwel kortweg GEN. Dit houdt in dat er in een straal van 30 kilometer rond Brussel 4 treinen per uur richting Brussel zouden moeten rijden. Maar zoals wel vaker, was er geen budget meer om de werken te financieren.
Maar binnenkort, in maart 2018, zouden de werken eindelijk hervatten. Er werd terug 1 miljard euro in het GEN- netwerk op lijn 161 gepompt. In deze fase gaan ze het gedeelte tussen Watermaal en Bakenbos (Hoeilaart) onder handen nemen, en dit gedeelte 4-sporig maken. Ook de stationsomgevingen worden verbeterd en gerenoveerd waar nodig, zo wordt bijvoorbeeld het stationsgebouw van Groenendaal (links in beeld) gerenoveerd, met een prijskaartje van zo'n 3 miljoen euro. In dat stationsgebouw zou er dan o.a. een kiosk en een restaurant komen. De parking van station Groenendaal zou ook 300 parkeerplaatsen krijgen, en een nieuw fietspad zou ook heraangelegd worden om het Zoniënwoud en de druivenstreek te verkennen. We hopen natuurlijk dat het eindelijk eens afgewerkt zou worden -wat tegen 2023 gepland is-, maar we gaan nog niet te vroeg juichen!
Nu naar de foto zelf. Jaarlijks rijdt de Blankenberge-Express tussen Blankenberge en Luxemburg, en dit altijd met een mooie CFL 3000 op kop. Helaas reed de Blankenberge-Express in 2017 niet, maar we hopen dat het dit jaar anders zal zijn!
Op de foto zien we loc 3004 van CFL het redelijk kalme en verlaten station van Groenendaal passeren, richting Brussel en Gent.
