NYSW C430's 3004 & 3008 with an Eastbound haulage train have made it to Deposit, NY on April 14, 1985. After battling the grade across Starrucca Viaduct and topping Gulf Summit, the train will be able to rest for a bit as it stops ahead for a meet with OIBU.
Waiting for a southbound train to clear the single track tunnel and cross, 45704 from Bettembourg (L) to Antwerpen Noord gets a few moments of rest amid the green hills around Houyet on 04/06/2021.

Het middagmaal werd genuttigd bij deze leuke brug tussen Hennuyères en Braine-le-Comte. De meeste treinen passeerden in het donker maar voor trein 52700 van Antwerpen Noord naar Chatelet kwam de zon nog eens tevoorschijn. De voorste loc bleek de 3004 van de CFL - ik ging ervan uit dat de 3000'en gehuurd waren specifiek voor diensten die het Groothertogdom aandoen, maar blijkbaar kan je ze ook voor andere diensten aantreffen.
Leuk weetje waarop een andere spotter me attent maakte: het hoogste punt (100,39 meter) van lijn 96 bevindt zich op afstandspunt 27,24 en dat is zo ongeveer op deze plek. Zo kreeg deze brug in het stoomtijdperk de Venetiaanse bijnaam "brug der zuchten". Die zuchten werden geslaakt door stoker en machinist wanneer de helling eindelijk overwonnen was. Vooral voor treinen uit Brussel moet dat het geval geweest zijn: het nabije Tubize ligt goed 50 meter lager.

St. Lawrence and Atlantic train 394 tonight was assisted by the IP section crew dumping ballast in Groveton. They have recently pulled a lot of stick rail between Mile 118-121 and replaced it with ribbon rail. The tracks here are in nice shape, but some ballast and surfacing should go a long way. The power off 394 and their 8 ballast cars are pictured backing into town after spreading and will drop off the track gang and resume their journey east.

Fall colour on the Niagara Escarpment is nearly at peek as CN 3004 and helper 2859 lead train 382 at mile 4.6 on the CN's Dundas Sub.
CP 3035 & 3004 heading east past the Viterra Grain Elevator at Moosejaw, Saskatchewan. Outbound to pick up Grain Cars at Reed Lake, Saskachewan.
WP GP35 3004 was involved in a side swipe accident somewhere on the WP, and hos found it's way to the WP's Sacramento Jeffrey Shops for evaluation and repair. Once repaired, the unit will emerge with a new EMD cab without the iconic WP "Golden Glow" reflector headlight, and will sport a standard twin sealed beam headlight and will be repainted into WP's new corporate color of Pearlman Green.
