Cecil and Ed built a 205 yard range on the edge of the hay field so we gave Maria's New Ruger 10/22 a try. It took quite a few shots using CCI Standard Velocity ammo to find the holdover.Turns out the holdover/aim point was five and a half feet above the target! First shot hit the concrete block. Second shot hit the base of the gong. I managed to nail the last eight. Thanks to Cecil and Ed for setting up the range! Some cool things when shooting that far: One: You see the gong move before you hear the sound of the hit.
Two: You can actually see the slow moving bullet as it drops toward the target.
It is fun to shoot stuff!

My first decent infrared photo. My set of three very cheap IR filters (less than $10US each) arrived yesterday:
720nm, 760nm and 850nm.
This one was made through the 720
These filters are probably made of plastic, but seem quite good for the price.

Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.) introduced an amendment to prevent the United States from entering into the United Nations Arms Trade Treaty in order to uphold the Second Amendment. His amendment passed on a 53-46 vote.
Senator Lamar Alexander (R-Tn.) said that the United Nations’ Arms Trade Treaty “violates the Second Amendment rights of all Americans by failing to protect the lawful ownership and use of firearms. Agreeing to the treaty would also threaten our nation’s sovereignty, as well as the U.S. Senate’s constitutional role of advice and consent by allowing the U.N. to amend the treaty in the future.”
